Looks like these Quarterfinal games will not be fully attended as previously thought. Everyone I talked to yesterday had extras for sale. SeetGeek has over 1500 listings the day before the game. TV ratings will be through the roof but I wonder what these bowl committees will think about the lack of visitors to these games.

As previously thought, by who? This was as predictable as the sun rising. Most fans are not committing to three neutral site games in three weeks.

You could almost make the case that a set of eyeballs watching on TV are more valuable than an actual butt in the seat. A person at the game isn't at home consuming 4 hours of commercials that bring in the big bucks.

I didn’t pay attention last year, was the Bama KState game attended well? Or the last few before that?

It's too be expected. Three consecutive neutral site games is an abomination whoever thought that was a good idea should be whipped through the streets

I went to a few Sugar Bowls when it was just a regular bowl game and it was never filled up. Worst attended one was Georgia-Baylor in 2019. I think last year it was full though as a playoff game. I think this game will still be 90% full at least.

This. Only reason they are doing this is to try to preserve the old ways and bowl games. It should be on campus until the natty.

as a georgia alum/fan, none of my friends or family even ever discussed or had any interest in going to this game. it was kinda weird, but pretty easy to explain.

I think by the Semi Finals, they should be on Neutral Fields, as the College Game has too big an HFV(Home Field Value).

The Athletic had a piece today where the author pushed for the first two rounds to be on campus. Said three bowl games in a row was too much and the attendance would suck.

As shown by the expanded field, the cream will rise to the top, thus fine with the pageantry of on-campus, and a nice reward for a single game, but CFB should decide their final four and then best two to one..on Neutrals.

All that matters are butts in the seats. If the ticket sells at $20 but it’s a butt in the seat that’s all that matters.

How many threads have you guys read over the years bitching about how expensive bowl/semifinal game prices have become and how it prices out the common folk? IMO the quarterfinal will give the Joe fan market an opportunity to see an intense competitive game. Semifinal and Finals will cater to the affluent.

Yeah, they need to be careful in the day of the 1K or less 100 inch flat screen..

Even wealthy college grads aren't gonna attend that many games..on campus or regional neutral fields.

Bowl games are on borrowed time. Campus playoff games are awesome.
