haven't seen any kids from there enter the portal. I know they're in the playoffs which is mostly the reason, but it'll be interesting to see how many of their players enter after their season ends

i think he's saying Clemson isn't big on paying NIL so maybe some of the top players will leave to get paid

I agree that it will be interesting for all teams involved in the playoffs, but Dabo isn't aggressively pursuing transfers either

It seems to me that you would already be hearing about the mercenaries if that were the case

Teams in the playoff aren't likely to lose many players into the portal until they're eliminated or win the natty.

Think about it, if you were planning on transferring but your team was in the CFP, wouldn't you at least wait until the season was over before entering?

If Clempson loses to Texass, then Dec 22 or late evening on Dec 21.

That was the understatement of the 2024 transfer portal year. I believe during one of the broadcasts of a Clemson game, the ONLY teams that got no transfers were the service academies (which are not allowed transfers) and the Clemson Tigers. Supposedly, Clemson got 0 players out of the transfer portal.

Dabo quietly changed his tune on NIL. There is a collective and Clemson players are getting compensated. He's focused on retention. He still hasn't budged on using the portal to bolster his roster.

I think the way it reads is one week after the teams season is over. The longer the run in the playoffs, the longer a person from that team has to decide.

I think that was the case last year, but this year there is a hard deadline. I can't find the rule change, but look at the articles about Penn State's back-up QB (Beau Pribula). When their starter said he was returning, Pribula had to make a decision and upon entering the portal, was no longer part of Penn State's team and misses the playoffs.

Heartbreaking for the kid and a big loss for the team as he had played well when needed.

I was listening to sports radio this afternoon and they were talking about Penn State’s #2 QB hitting the portal…

I believe they get 5 days after their last game to enter the portal.

perhaps, but by then, they have less leverage since other teams have already started filling the holes in their roster...

Dabo doesn’t pursue the portal at all.

So they changed that too? I thought you could enter the portal yet still play in bowl games?
