Need to replace windshield. Usually use satellite. Is it ok to use their aftermarket glass v the OEM? Only think mine has is rain sensors.

If you have adaptive cruise control or steering assist, expect another $1,000 - $1,500 for the camera calibration.

Have yet to have one replaced from aftermarket and the sensors work correctly.

frick Safelite. First, the price they quoted for aftermarket shite was extremely high, but I went with them anyways. Get there, wait 2 hours, then they call me over to show me the "new" glass they are getting ready to put in "has some scratches on it, but we don't want you to think we scratched it." I told them to kiss my arse, they weren't putting already scratched glass on my car. They looked at me like "WHY NOT?" Then said they would re-order, and bring to my house to install, but they wouldn't even waive the delivery charge.
I went with a local guy, better glass, half the price, and didn't charge anything to recalibrate any cameras.
Safelite is scum.

They couldn't get OEM, that's why I'm asking if there is a difference.

First, they suck.

Second, they are overpriced.

Third, their brand glass sucks more than they suck.

safe lite asked for my insurance details to price out the job at 25 bucks less than my deductible. Screw them, a local glass shop did a fine job for 250 bucks less

I have a company fleet car, a corolla to be exact, and I usually get 1 windshield per year from safelite. They don't use the oem and the recalibrate the camera system and I haven't had an issue with either. I wouldn't worry about it unless you have some sort of sound insulating high end oem windshield.

Most states it’s subject to your deductible. And almost all carriers it’s NAGS glass.

Weird I was thinking about this today .My wife’s Audi needs a new windshield and was wondering who to go to for replacement and if I was going to need to pay for a recalibration or whatever.

Satellite sucks. Quoted me a price and ten minutes later called back and doubled it. Dealership was even more expensive. It’s has adaptive cruise and sensors. Quoting me $2000.

frick that noise. I will let it shatter to nothing before I replace it.
