Early reviews sounding very good, excited to check this one out now just based on this alone...
quote:

Like if an immersive sim got caught in a teleporter accident with Uncharted. Some aspects of The Great Circle are weaker than others, but it joins Batman Arkham and Goldeneye in the god tier of licensed games.
quote:

Indiana Jones and The Great Circle takes an unexpectedly stealthy and freeform approach, making for a faithful, rip-roaring adventure in which you truly embody the famous archeologist
quote:

Tells a thrilling story that seamlessly weaves into the existing fabric of the series
The whole cast is excellent, but Troy Baker stands out for his portrayal of the beloved archeologist
Environments are intricately detailed and reward thorough exploration
Stealth and combat are intertwined, offering a lot of freedom and player expression

9/10 IGN, 86 PCGamer, 9 GameSpot so far. 87 average OpenCritic.

That is some very high praise.

I loved the older Indiana Jones games. With all that’s going on in the world, I hope it takes more inspiration from the original trilogy rather than targeting “modern” audiences.

Yea I've heard some comparisons with Dishonored but also heard there is a "right" way to play which is primarily stealth. Even if that is the case it looks like a fun time.

Yeah if this is anything close to Dishonored or Prey, but with Indy it will be right up my ally.

Yeah my backlog is hurting as well but thanks to Gamepass I’ll be downloading this sometime this morning. Reviews look good!

Playing it now and it's literally this . Really good so far and Troy Baker nailed the Indiana voice.

Runs extremely smooth on the Series X. Playing it there instead of the PC for the home theater experience

I played for a bit last night. Pretty decent game so far. Only a couple hours in and running around the Vatican, but I'll stick with it.

I'm running ultra settings just fine on my PC. Can't run anything higher or I get below 60 fps. Radeon RX 6750 XT 12GB and Ryzen 5 7600X on an ultrawide.

Pros seem to be respect for the source material, level design, the story, and performances of the characters

Cons seem to be the AI is brain dead

That doesn't bother me much as the things that the game does well are the things I care more about but I can see how someone could be bothered by the AI when it sounds like that's a legitimate issue

I think I got this free for buying my PC with a 4070 super. I’ll have to check.

Not really a big fan of it being seemingly 1st person. But I’ll still give it a go when it makes it to PS5

This. I’m playing in hard mode and the enemies are laughably dumb. This gameplay and enemy AI is straight out of the mid-2000s. The first person view with no “weight” to the movement dates this game a lot.

With that said, it’s a fun ride, but I’m glad I got it free with gamepass instead of paying $70 or more.
