Is Pickett "Stingley good"?

He will be day 1 CB1.
This is actually big because our corners improved a lot this year. Because the other guys won’t have to match up with the other teams #1 WR, we should see significant coverage improvements.
Safety remains a big question as that’s honestly what killed us most of the year on defense.
Cliff notes: things looking good on the defensive side going forward.

His potential is off the charts. You don’t see a ton of 6’4” corners who can cover like he does.

The question will be how does he play in Zone coverage. I would bet at high school he’s been man mostly. Can’t do that in college anymore, especially with zone read and RPO schemes on offense.

Yes dude is sauce Gardner with even better long speed and sauce is a 4.41 guy. He has elite length and his movement skills for his size is rare. He’s built to cover any type of wr on an island. With freaks like Jeremiah smith and Ryan Williams in CFB we now have a cornerback who can athletically match those guys. All world talent

Physically I would comp him to Patrick Peterson. Will he be that good? Who knows, but he is a day 1 starter.

Go look at pictures of Stingley before he got to LSU and then look at Pickett. Not even comparable. Stingley was jacked coming out of HS. Think expecting Pickett to be the #1 corner in the country as a freshman might be setting the kid up for failure.

Don't think Zy is back next year, may be out of eligibility. Hopefully LSU gets Jackson from Florida.
