Could Paul and Livvy close any deals for us?

Unless Paul agrees to let Livvy do the old glug glug on some recruits pee pees I don’t see any influence they would have on high school boys

Not sure how much impact a baseball player and a gymnast have on high school football players. I would think they care more about other football players, but you never know.

No offense to either Paul or Livvy, but their appearance on Game Day was pretty lackluster and forgettable. Not sure how that energy would help us with recruits.

Paul did serious work with the baseball recruits that visited here a month ago or so ago. I dont know what you expect him to help with on the football side.

College baseball is a minor sport. I understand LSU care about it greatly but I’d guess maybe 20% of our commits even know who Paul Skenes is.

Sure. That second contract Skenes is going to get is going to be nice, so he'll have no problem donating to the school. Not sure about Livvy though. I have no clue what a host on ESPN or FS1 makes these days. But with her social media stardom she'll probably have a few bucks to donate as well.

You are one BILLION PERCENT correct in labeling college baseball a minor sport. Nobody in BR could spell baseball before Skip came to town and started winning titles against schools that pour (rightfully so) the majority of their resources into the two sports that virtually every school tries to win at.
And you're not wrong about our football and basketball recruits not knowing who Skenes is. Unless of course, it's LESS than 20%.

I know this isn’t the train of thought but you’re not entirely off base on what people like Livvy, Skenes, Crews, Reese, Jayden bring to the table in recruiting.
No, they’re not winning someone over just by being around, but they are the pinnacle of what LSU offers. None of them ended up at LSU because we paid them the most money of any school, or because we can pay anyone the most money.
But they were were elevated by the brand at LSU and left with more marketability and likely richer than they would have at any other school in the country. And that can definitely be sold to recruits. It’s why that Amazon series was created.
We won’t outbid an Oregon or Texas, and I don’t think we did for several of our currently committed players. I think they picked us because of compensation and exposure.

If we could get those two and the King and Queen of the Netherlands to throw some 5 ways toward the special recruits it might help a little bit.
