Pardoned for what? Have they been charged with a crime? Wouldn't they have to be charged with a crime or at least confess to having committed a crime?

I doubt that SCOTUS would uphold a blanket open-ended pardon. Ford pardoned Nixon before he was charged but no one challenged it in court.

They're creating dishonest talking points like Trump will try to prosecute his political opponents. It's an attempt to trigger emotional responses (fear) about big bad Trump than a claim Jack Smith did something improper or illegal.
