In case some of your are interested in applying.

quote:

DOGE’s recruitment call is highly selective, seeking only the nation’s brightest minds committed to small-government ideals. According to a statement issued by DOGE on Thursday, applicants should be prepared for an intense workload with little reward. “We need super high-IQ, small-government revolutionaries willing to work 80+ hours per week on unglamorous cost-cutting,” the statement read.

quote:

Co-led by Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, the task force invites interested candidates to apply via its official social media account, which is verified with the grey government checkmark on Musk’s X platform. However, applying requires an active X subscription, adding a barrier to entry. Exceptional candidates will be handpicked by Musk and Ramaswamy: “Elon & Vivek will review the top 1% of applicants,” the announcement promised.

That's a big ask, considering the limited personal gains entailed.

NBL I've heard working for any Musk company means you're working those kinds of hours. 60-80 is not unheard of. SpaceX especially, they work them hard there.

If Elon could guarantee a spot at one of his other companies then it's a no brainer

Any candidates that appear to be DEI get moved to the bottom of the list

If that is at the top of one's list of why they want to help out his/her country then maybe they are not the best choice.

Lmao…you don’t need to work 80hrs a week or be some high IQ guy.

Get a couple of small business owners to meet a couple of times a week for a year and it will be done.

I assume this means a paid subscription of some sort. That's not a good look.

I'm curious what the pay is like.

7 -12's? no problem

7-14's? no problem. done it many times for months at a a time.

never worked 9 to 5 40 hour week banker hours in my life.

no wonder so many cannot get ahead.

Yep. When my parents went into their small business, 40 hours per week was out of the question, but the hours did reduce once everything was established.
Musk needs to soften his request for Dems to "you'll need to show up and work".

I agree. This is a really dumb expectation from Elon. 80hrs a week means zero life. This and his retarded comment that WFH is "morally wrong" just shows that no matter how smart and successful you are, you're still capable of doing and saying stupid things.

80+ hours a week entails a choice between family, friends, other pursuits, and "helping out."

Self employed here, do great and cap myself at 40-50 hours a week. Family and self health is more important.
