The downfall of orange juice.

What has happened to this once dominant juice? If you were around in the 80s and 90s (and probably before that but I wasn’t here yet) orange juice was a staple in the kitchen. We even used the frozen little tube that you turn into orange juice with sink water.
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone drink orange juice in close to 10 years. I havn’t seen the little frozen tubes of it in stores either. Was there a moment that changed things or was it a gradual thing?

Word got out that even the real stuff is sugar water. A lot of the product wasn’t even real juice.

Too much sugar and acid

I blame heartburn for why I never drink it. It’s my #1 heartburn trigger.
With that said, I love orange juice

I have orange juice in my fridge right this moment.
I think the Goldmans are to blame for what you're speaking of.

Even if you pluck the oranges from the trees and squeeze them with a biodegradable avocado press...it's still just a shite ton of sugar water.

Because it tastes like ammonia after brushing your teeth in the morning.

just like kool aid.....all sugar

We don’t do the frozen tubes but we still drink high pulp all natural orange juice. But not nearly as much as families did in the 80s. Fruit juice in general is a sugar bomb.

Thanks for bumping that memory.

Yeah it’s got more sugar than a Coke

Orange juice is just pure sugar. All fruit juice is basically pure sugar.

I'll crush it at hotel breakfasts, but it's obsolete in my life any other time. I like grapefruit juice more, but I can't drink that any more due to some medications.
