The trad wife movement is based on the belief that men and women should assume “traditional” gender roles, with women caring for the house and children, and men providing financially and managing most decisions for the family.

It's mostly a contradiction in terms.

Not that I'm against traditionalism or traditional M/F relationships/roles, but the "trad wife movement" is an online influencer movement and inherently "not trad"

My ex-wife worked and was the bread winner.

Other than that, we fulfilled our traditional roles.

Until she left and filed for divorce. Not bitter. Just a statement of fact.

Why add “Trad”? The word “wife” properly describes her role.

I am the primary bread winner but my wife works

My wife primarily takes care of the house but I cook and clean the kitchen several nights a week.

I handle all of our finances.

Am I in the minority?

Pretty regressive to put labels on it like that IMO.

Right now my wife doesn’t work. Not because she is a traditional wife but because she carried us for 3 years while I was in school.

Right now people might think it’s a traditional relationship, but my wife could tell me she never wants kids and is going to try to become a doctor and I’d be cool with it. Much like I’d hope she support me in what I wanted to do.

A lot of miserable relationships out there because people make it into a business deal, which rarely works.

Couples who do this when the kids are in the home have a cheat code to happiness and solid child development. After or before the children, it doesn't really matter to me.

My wife doesn't work and stays at home. Does that count?
