Culturally speaking and geographically speaking. Industry wise the golden triangle really could also include Lake Charles.

Southeast Texas Golden Triangle (Beaumont/Orange/Port Arthur) - I see a shite ton of qualities here mainly in the cuisine and the names.

Coastal Mississippi - the terrain is similar for sure but not sure on the cuisine and the names.

South Alabama (mainly Mobile area) - same as above. Not sure on the names especially.

Which of these 3 is the most similar to South Louisiana and almost feels like an extension of it?

Imo it’s south Mississippi hands down

Through the years a lot of people from Louisiana have moved there

Hell, LSU may have just as much if not more fans in south Mississippi than state or ole miss

Mississippi.

Of places in the US that kind of remind me of Louisiana in ways when driving through, I'd say Maryland or Maine.

Does this migration influence the local food and the names you see? Lots of French names?

Two people have already said it.

South Mississippi.

It’s like what SE Louisiana would be like if it took better care of itself.

I am in the Gulfport/Long Beach area often and they are basically suburbs of NOLA. LSU/Saints gear everywhere, Shrimp Po Boys sold at every restaurant, a good population of people who "talk like us", etc.
