This is just getting stupid. 100% tariffs? Really?
Breitbart

quote:

During the Republican candidate’s rally in Savannah, Georgia, on September 24, he told the crowd that he would place the heavy tariff on “every single car coming across the Mexican border,” just a day after he vowed to impose a 200-percent tariff on John Deere products if the company moves production to Mexico.

I can understand some tariffs to entice companies not to move, but in an election cycle you are throwing around 200% tariffs. It's stupid.

He’s negotiating in the media. It’s what he’s always done and it works

So you understand Trump code?

How do you know what he intends?

OPs argument is literally Trump talking about tariffs is "stupid". I don't think he's capable of processing intelligent responses.

Tariffs are like stepping over a dollar to pick up a dime. Trump is soothing his ego right now, trying to tell people about all the power he'll have if elected. All of this will be passed onto consumers and Trump is so out of touch he has no clue how car prices have gone up the past few years.

Mexico is a narco state with cheap labor and a thorn in our side. I'm going to align with Trump on this one.

He's fighting for the American worker. That's all he's trying to get across. Dems have completely abandoned blue-collar workers.

He most likely needs to win one of the Midwestern swing states in order to win.

Campaigning on using drastic measures to keep US manufacturing jobs in America will almost certainly play well with the auto workers in Michigan and manufacturing workers in the rest of the Midwest.

I don't have a manufacturing job and I still like the idea of rolling back some of the globalist bullshite trade agreements forced on the American people over the past 3 decades by the Bush's, Clinton, Obama, and Biden.

Every tax, tariff, reg, etc is passed onto the consumer.

So long as the consumer population has access to good paying jobs, the government can lean on (tax) their prosperity and not collapse them.

A tax on businesses for no other reason to get more money is questionable. If the tax on business is done to make America more competitive in the global market (a tariff) then it might be a good thing if implemented in the right place, time, and amount.

Taking a blanket stance against tariffs is about as bad as taking a blanket stance on taxes. Sure, we're taxed too much currently, but no taxes at all would be destructive as well.

Why don’t you leave the brain work to the experts. Stay in your lane.

Imagine watching the political scene for the past 8 or so years, and either not understanding how Trump uses hyperbole, or thinking if we somehow wring our hands hard enough and/or skyscream about it loud enough, we might be able to make him do something else.

OK, lemme splain. The teamsters union voted strongly to support Trump. That has never happened. Their bosses decided to merely say 'no endorsement of anyone.' That's historically bad for Dems.
Soooo, Trump can win a big labor vote across the board like no recent GOP candidate. And that's why he's talking about tariffs.
Workers HATE companies moving to foreign countries. They LOVE tariffs to deter that. All of my life Dems had 'the workin' man' in their pocket. It could change and be the difference.
So, relax. Trump knows what he's doing.

Let Trump's Transition Team Leader explain it to you.... I posted this twice already. He explains it better than Trump does.
