They did a podcast discussing their top concerns for the season. The Pels stuff starts at 44 min mark. LINK

Some tidbits

-The Ingram situation is hovering around the team.

-Suggested Miami or Clippers as potential Ingram teams, but they didn’t think anything was going on there.

-Lowe suggested we may start Zion at C

-The bad teams who could be Ingram suitors are more interested in draft positioning to get Cooper Flagg

-Trey Murphy: Why isn’t he starting to which Lowe suggested CJ needs to come off the bench. Why hasn’t an extension happen yet?

-Simmons doesn’t have us as a playoff team.

Everyone is massively underrating the impact of a svelte Zion. It's not just that he's going to play better, which of course he will, but it's also the fact that he will probably play three or four more minutes per game than he has in the past.

There's not a more popular basketball guy whose opinion i trust less than Bill Simmons.

Bill Simmons is the biggest dumbass in sports media, and that’s an extremely impressive feat.

Colin cowherd says hi, he just said a few weeks ago the panthers and falcons were significantly better than the saints.

which is one of the things that a majority of us were very concerned about by not trading him, even if it's for "lesser" value than you may be able to get a little later, at the trade deadline... could really cause some issues in the locker room and derail morale and the season, if its not properly addressed and handled...

can't blame them... Flagg probably currently is better than BI, and if he's not currently, he damn sure will end up being better than him, by a wide margin... Flagg is a generational player, who will end up winning multiple MVP awards

Trey Murphy: Why isn’t he starting

b/c BI is in the way... as soon as he's gone, Murphy will start

completely agree, as most people with a brain do too...

That was a common take, at least the Falcons portion. Literally no one saw the Saints being as good as they are.

This is what I don't understand. There doesn't seem to be much talk about it in the media, or even on here, and I have no idea why he hasn't signed his extension yet. It should have no bearing on the BI decision. If Trey is part of this teams future, which I think we all agree he should be, then he should have had this signed a long time ago. It is concerning to me that it hasn't been signed.
Griff is going to frick around and lose BI for nothing, then piss off Trey and watch him go to another team for nothing next offseason.

Treye can’t go to another team. We have all the leverage and it’s in our best interest to play hard ball. Regardless, treye will be on the team next season. Don’t freak out.

You should take a look at Nick Wright's power rankings. He has multiple 0-2 teams ahead of the Saints

I’m sure Flagg already has an agent.

If his rationale is because we don't have a legit center, Id like to show him the best teams of the last 2 decades and how more times than not, the teams starting center is not a top 15 center in the league and more of a body for rebounding/defense.

This team has Zion, CJ, Murray, Herb, BI, and Trey. Thats a top 15 player and 5 other great players.
Jose Alvarado and Theis are solid role players. Hawkins has potential.
I wouldn't be as confused if Simmons said we aren't a top 4-5 seed, but to think we arent in the top half of the western conference is kind of silly.

With this said, it'll be a disappointing year (again) if Zion goes down (again).

He most certainly can. When a guy says "frick y'all do not resign me", he kind of forces their hand to find a S&T during his RFA.

The thing is that a bad team with a good asset can acquire Ingram and play him a few games before being shut down for an "injury." His history makes any offered injury plausible. Then tank is easier with traded away asset not contributing and Ingram not playing, while saving BI to pair with future high draft pick.

They talked about this during the segment. If he's not signed and we cut his minutes (or don't start him), he's going to be pissed and want to be moved. If he can't get a good deal now, he's going to want to be featured to get the best deal possible. All of that could be avoided by signing him now. It doesn't make sense to play hard ball with him..

He had OKC, Mavs, Minny, Grizz, and Nuggets as top 6 then Lowe mentioned the play in, and so they grouped us with the Kings, Lakers, Rockets, Warriors and maybe Clippers fighting for the 7-10 spots.

He said us to make the playoffs was -188 on fan duel was way too high.

That fair. Hard to say what this team is and isn't without seeing how they fit together and what the rotations and heirarchy looks like.

Thats 5 teams but assume you meant to include the Suns.

With that said, outside of OKC/Mavs/Nuggets/Minn, I dont think you can say that any of the other teams are shoe-ins to be better than the Pels.

We are in the class of Suns/grizz/maybe Lakers/Clippers.
Rockets arent there yet. Warriors are on the downward slope. Kings can get fricked.

I heard all of this last offseason.

And some will say "but look he's actually in shape now" and my reply would be...I heard exactly that last offseason.

I hope it's true, maybe it's true. I'm not speaking on it like it's true until we actually see it happening during the season.
