If you're worried about what method of payment seems more "impressive" you've got some issues.

what?

I have carried a gold card for several years now and I am the least impressive person in my circle.

This is nowhere near what you think it is.

Most of the guys that have $1000 plus is cash are guys that run cash businesses like landlords, home town fast food, etc in my experience. I know very few other people that routinely have cash on them. I’ve never seen that as a sign as being impressive, personally. I don’t care that they have the cash and likely avoid income tax, but it’s not a sign of being a baller either.

Haha!
How does anyone even think about a question like that.
A Chase Ink card pays the same as any card out there.

Neither. Paying the check without anyone knowing is the best flex.

I thought the American Express black card was the impressive one.

Whats the deal with the gold card; double the points?

Weird you think either one of these would be impressive. You have a pretty low bar.

If going to a really nice restaurant, I carry both. Meal on AmEx gold, tip in cash to waiter/waitress…

The thing I enjoy most is when someone else picks up the tab.

The exact opposite of what you suggest or many people thing.

Good service
Great food
Enjoying your time with your table companions
A seamless experience that allows you to enjoy the evening

Not showy garbage
Loud music
Trendy dishes
Flashing wealth
