Sage Ryan is without a doubt one of the most overrated players on the team. He just does not have the physical attributes needed for the undisciplined style of football he plays. I would live to the the depth chart get shaken up this week against a lower level opponent

How many td passes did he yield?

Sage Ryan, Major Burns, and Gilbert wouldn’t have cracked the 3-deep on those late 2000s/early2010s teams. They simply are not SEC caliber players and it’s a damn shame we haven’t been able to recruit better players.

Unfortunately, they appear to be the best of the lot.

Yeah if we have to keep those 3 out there, I don’t even blame the kids. That is on recruiting

He never panned out. Not all 5 stars do.

What’s insane is this is the third year and BK can’t get the secondary right.

How is he objectively better as a coach as Ed O at this point?

Hiring Kerry Cooks and Steeples set us back 1-2 years in replenishing our secondary from the Orgeron roster fiasco. Hopefully Kelly learned from that because we can’t afford it to happen again.

I'm willing to bet the only reason Sage was starting was due to his experience and we will see a lot more of PJ Woodland starting next week.

I'd say your starting corners before long will be Stamps and Woodland

Looking back at Sage being a 5 star is wild. He’s like a 2 star in terms of ability

He’s a low 3 star at best

He lacks football intuition or football IQ. He may have physical talent, but instead of having four years experience, he has one year experience four times. I do not think it will change.

Sucks, poor tackler and must be a coach's pet. Got burned Sunday night. Never liked this player at all. Guy is to damn short to cover 6'2" and above WR's. Poor technique. PJ Woodland is better than him.

From his hometown and around his age. played against him all the time in 7v7's, scrimmages, etc. I never understood why he was rated so highly. In my opinion he should've been a 3 star. I went to HS with 4/5 star athletes and they blew Sage out of the water when it came physical ability.

that's not the metric that matters.

I do know Sage gave up, among others, the last pass that put USC in FG range at the end of the game.

I've been saying this for a few years...he isn't a corner that is for sure...they claimed last year that he was the best tackler and yet would miss tackles each and every game....would i have started him this year...maybe to give him the benefit of the doubt but after seeing some of the same things coverage wise as years past...i would def pull him...

i am not the coach nor claim to be and do not see him at practice...just going off observation of a single player over the years.

We get it. You’d prefer a worse team but with your favorite players. Okay, but the coaches have him out there because they, with 50 times the information you have and 25 times the expertise, think the team is better that way.

He doesn't have back to back nonwinning seasons.

DBs are good as your defensive line gets a pass rush. I will say this. Lsu dbs have been lacking ball awareness for a few years now. Look at the TD Moss threw. Lsu dB was completely lost. Comes down to teaching techniques and coaching. The D improved, at it was obvious. Game was lost because USC defense took over and LSU could not run the ball. They're in trouble down the road if Nuss has to throw 40 times a game.

Sage is not a good football player.

I commend him on his time here and he’s stuck it out but he’s simply not great.
