Wife and I are flying to Las Angeles...rent car or just Uber?

We will be there a few days in early November. To see all the attractions, is it better/cheaper to rent a car or Uber everywhere? If we do rent a car, what is the parking situations like?
And while we are discussing Las Angeles, what are the must see attractions in a 3 day visit?
Thanks.

We used Uber for in town rides. Just be aware that the prices vary wildly depending on the destination and time of day. But we were staying at the Nugget so not close to the strip. For the record the hotel was not our choice, it was where the conference was. I do not recommend it.
Disregard. I read it Las Vegas. Rent a car in LA

I’d rent a car. The coast is the most beautiful part of the trip…I guess it just depends on what you want to do. For the city proper I’d rather Uber, for site seeing up the coast to Malibu I’d rather a rental.

Los Angeles not Las.
And LA is a massive city. If you’re wanting to see Santa Monica Pier, DTLA, Hills, Malibu, Calabasas, Hollywood, you’ll go broke trying to Uber to everything.

Rent a car in LA. It's massively spread out. Think Houston spread times 100. Generally, things will not be close together. Because of this, really be mindful of what times you get on the freeways because the traffic can be extremely bad. It can also really mess with what you think will be your schedule/time table.

Rent a car then immediately head south to La Jolla and San Diego

L.A. not LA (or maybe not I don’t know for sure

I do agree with everything else.

I’d rent a car. L.A. is big and a lot of the places worth going to are spread out. A drive up or down the coast is a must.

No it’s awful here. Straight trashy. Stay in LA.

Taking Uber all over a big city like that sounds like a terrible idea unless you are rich

Definitely rent a car & stay at a hotel that offers self parking. Some are valet only & it's a pain in the arse. You definitely want to do Beverly Hills, Maybe catch a studio tour, dine on sunset strip, hike Runyon Canyon, and visit Griffon Observatory, and make a drive out to Malibu. Tons of things to do around LA.

Depends on your plans, Uber some days would be cheaper than the cost of parking

Be prepared for the giant clusterfrick that is LAX. I went through there last month and stayed a night on the way out. Getting into and out of the airport is the most amazing display of stupidity that I've ever seen. My brother warned me and I kind of blew it off, but he was right. Just assume that you will have major delays compared to what you expect. And that nobody there will give a frick or be competent. Maybe you'll be lucky, but set your expectations low, real low.

I fly to LA for work every month. I've never had an issue at LAX, but I tend to take the same flight each time arriving and leaving. It's Delta FWIW.
I always rent a car. Hop on the bus right outside the terminal and it takes me to the rental car place about 10 mins away. Never had an issue..

We go to L.A. 4-6 times a year from NOLA. Recently we've been using Turo. Usually much cheaper than renting a car and you can pick out the exact car you want.

Certainly rent a car …. Plenty of street parking in the city.
Uber is ridiculously expensive.
And the bus to the rental car rental is not that bad. Grow up complainers.

When I need to rent a car, I always rent from SIXT whenever I can and that includes LAX.
