Dumb question - Outdoor speakers

I have built in outdoor speakers on my patio that the previous owner installed. In a closet inside the house, there’s some corresponding speaker wires coming from the attic.
Here’s my question. What would I need to buy to allow me to use these speakers via Bluetooth? Some sort of Bluetooth receiver obviously.

Personally I’d get a Sonos Amp. Would allow you to easily play music via any app

You can use any receiver to power your speakers, and you can get a Bluetooth receiver to receive your phone signal, and to plug into any of the inputs on your receiver.
I have this one, but there are less expensive ones that may work just as well (or not). amazon link
The closer you can get your bluetooth receiver to where you plan to hang out, the better.

That item is just a Bluetooth adapter correct? I need something that I would insert these speaker wires into.

You need some sort of receiver/amplifier that has a Bluetooth input and speaker outputs. I use a slightly larger version of one of these around my pool.

Sonos amp. Yes the app is shitty right now but it will work better soon. If you do a Bluetooth adapter or receiver will probably be too far away.

Speaker model and quantity? What type of arrangement? Do you use apple or android phones or prefer xm or fm or cds?

S930H in my shed running my outdoor setup. Heos enabled Denon is the best option IMO. You want a wifi receiver, not a bluetooth. These "H" Denon receivers allow you to play spotify or whatever through the unit without having to directly connect your phone. You can control Spotify right through the Spotify app instead of the shitty Heos or Sonos apps.
Meaning you can still sit on the patio and scroll through apps, watch videos, or make calls with your phone without interrupting the music. Nothing worse than music interruptions when trying to chill out or keep the vibes at a get-together.
I bought mine refurbished from Accessories4Less in 2018 and it lives in my uninsulated, un-conditioned shed and stays turned on 24/7. I run a fan on it on hot summer days when actively listening to music.

I have wired outdoor speakers and a wifi Yamaha receiver. I control the entire thing with my phone from anywhere in the house or back by the pool.
If you have wired speakers, you don't need to fool with a bluetooth setup for that particular space.

Some good recs here. I will emphasize what others have said that you want WiFi capability, though, not just Bluetooth.

Sonos can be great. Mine have issues now and then, and can be very frustrating. But for the most part, I love em. Can’t think of a better option.

Stil need model number and quantity of speakers. General location description would help too. Impossible to suggest setup without that.

When I moved into my current house, it was set up like you described. I bought a Bluetooth stereo receiver and an impedance matching speaker selector. I then bought a Chromecast Audio to get away from the weaknesses of Bluetooth. I have been very happy with that set up

It's so good in concept and so shitty in practice. Half the time I end up having to reboot it or reconnect it or reinstall it. I have a JBL Xtreme that I end up just taking outside or the garage. I use it 99% of the time and my Sonos speakers just go unused. Waste of money.

So Im not the only one? Ever since the upgraded app, my music will just drop, or the volume will decrease from like 50 to 15 for no reason. It is such a pain in the arse, despite the fact that I love the Sonos products.
OP... I have 2 sonos amps for in house wired speakers and outdoor patio wired speakers. I upgraded after the flood of 2016. I would highly recommend other than the current app situation.
FYI, this weekend it worked better after I just started music on a playlist, and closed out the app entirely
