Who has been in a serious fist/street fight

Not just a little scrum. But a true fight, throwing knuckles, blood, broken teeth, etc
I have only been in a few small skirmishes, and some chest puffing, peacocking, pushing/shoving ordeals. And organized boxing/wrestling matches but not on the street. In one situation I did have a black guy flash a gun at me, as I was trying to stop a fight at a house party. That's probably the worst of it.
I can honestly say, anything I have been involved with was either out of defense for myself or with friends. Lots of close calls that could have escalated, but the situation was able to diffused before it got to anything.
But nothing I would consider to be a full on fight.

pffftt....Grew up as an Army brat in the 70's early 80's.. You fought daily for a month every time you moved to a new base to establish yourself in the pecking order.

I got in a bad gang fight, in the alleys of downtown St. Amant. I was lucky to come out alive.

I smoked a guy in the jaw one time and then was tackled from behind by his buddy who was way bigger than me. Was pinned on the ground trying to dodge a few punches and then someone came up and kicked me straight in the face. No missing teeth but it hurt for a few days.
Side note. It’s hilarious how kids how beef with other high schools but then you go grow, go to college, and end up being friends with all the same guys you hated just because they went to another school.

I trained this young kid at my gym. He became a very good boxer but money started getting the best of him. Not to mention his agent kept saying he would always be in my shadow. He showed up at a bar and challenged me to a fight outside. I didn’t want to at all but he wouldn’t let it go. So we fought in the street. A huge crowd surrounded us. Even a public bus stopped to let the riders watch. I won in the end but it was tough. I even punched his agent and told him to sue me.

Several lessoned learned from 18-22.
One such lesson: Don't choke a punk at AJ's bar in Destin. Leaves you defenseless from his punk friends jumping in.

I started asking around about why Richie did Bobby Lupo. Next thing I know I have a pool cue flying at my head.

Two:
1.) 1982: I ran my mouth at my best friend in 5th grade ‘til he’d had enough. We fought at recess and he beat my arse pretty good.
2.) 1989/90: Fought a guy in the high school lunch room, which doubled as the theater/auditorium. The teachers all ate lunch on stage so they could watch the students. The guy took a swing, I ducked and drove his back into the stage and got a handful of solid punches to his face before a teacher fell off the stage trying to break us up. I still had a mouthful of food when the teacher stood us up to take us to the principal’s office. You could hear a pin drop in that lunchroom as everybody stared at us.

I was a trashy idiot when I was younger. Been in enough to know I have no business fighting and most other men have no business doing it, either. I do everything I can to avoid them now. You never know if you or somebody else is going to fall, hit their head, and die.
