I go with RIO Game load 1 1/4 oz 7.5 or 8 shot.
Haven't found a better one out there.

Whichever is on sale when I go to get shells.

The cheapest ones
I always feel embarrassed for sports that show up with the most expensive shells and couldn't hit sand if they fell off a camel

Whatever my B-80 will cycle. This typically involves some cleaning, some cussing, and ultimately depends on the alignment of the planets. Saturn looking dogshit for opening day.

When I’m shooting doves the shells almost never have anything to do with the outcome….

Whatever I have close by in 7.5 or 8 shot size.
I use an O/U so not worried about it cycling.

Preferred choice: Remington 1100LT20 with modified choke and 7/8 oz #8 lead (any brand).
Second string: Beretta A400 12 gauge with light modified choke and 1&1/8 oz #7.5 lead (any brand).

I had that thought process up until a few years ago. I got the winchesters, cheap.
Opening day, I shot about 7 boxes, didn't kill my limit... feathers everywhere birds kept flying. That night I went and got a case of Rio's high brass, next day box and half got my limit.
Not one to blame the shells for a miss, but when you are shedding feathers and they are still flying I had to make a change.

Duck Hunting is so bad, all you dudes need to dove hunt with enthusiasm. When I lived in West Texas, I could hunt doves from September through October. And you could kill a limit most every time. It was fun.

I hunt the entire dove season here in Alabama. I'm not certain that I don't enjoy it even more than duck hunting honestly

Used to bring my shotgun in my truck and leave to hunt after work. Probably would get turned in as a terrorist threat nowadays.

quote:This. If I had every dove that I've knocked feather out of and kept flying, I'd eat good for a month. Used to shoot the shittiest shells my gun would cycle and be enraged as I watched feathers fall but no dove. Started shooting better shells and the problem went away.

I like the Winchester Fast Dove.
Got a case shipped to my house from Mack’s for $120.
