What exactly is going on with Corey Feldman's music career?

Is he for real or is this some kind of Kaufman-esque style of performance art? I really can't tell. It's a fascinating blend of no musical talent, dance moves from the 80's, hideous wardrobe choices, & a complete lack of self-awareness. Are we supposed to be laughing or crying?

He’s giving it “his all” more than anyone out there. He just isn’t talented.
We missed him opening for Limp Bizkit in Atlanta last week because apparently Bill Gates controls the weather and was keeping him from performing in ATL for over 10 years.
Add-On: his obsession with Michael Jackson is probably a sign of some repressed trauma he can’t sort through.
Also, Fred Durst hates him.
