Did Trump lie about being in a helicopter with Willie Brown?

(I thought surely a few people would at least try to answer the question. Nope. Just a buncha "but what about" bullshite. Enjoy the arse kicking that is coming in November. Some of y'all are really gonna hate having a Black woman as YOUR president.)
I truly want to someone to explain this to me. Please, answer the question I ask. Don't reply with "but somebody else lied once ..."
During Trump's news conference yesterday, he told a story about "going down" in a helicopter with Willie Brown, former mayor of San Francisco. AT the time, the story made no sense, because why would Trump be with Willie Brown? Anyway, Brown later said it never happened. Said he had never been in a helicopter with Trump.
So, if Trump will just make up a story like that, when there is no reason whatsoever to do so, how can you believe him when he talks about something important?
There are really only two answers. One, you believe he is telling the truth and your eyes and ears and everyone else is lying. Two, you know he's lying, but you don't care for whatever reason. So, which is it?
I truly want to someone to explain this to me. Please, answer the question I ask. Don't reply with "but somebody else lied once ..."

To be fair, we are still waiting on why it was ok for Kamala to lie about Biden’s health and have yet to receive an answer. Personally I’ll wait to see his reply about it. Either he lied, told the truth, or was mistaken him from someone else.

From what I gathered about this story it was back in the eighties. Willie Brown probably can’t remember that far back

Trump may very well be lying but to cite Willie Brown is laughable.
Walz says he was in combat. That is a lie objectively. It is in fact a lie.
It's possible Brown, Trump or both are just mistaken .
