Drew a mule deer tag and will be hunting elk as well.

Still haven’t made my first elk hunt and I need to change that soon.
Somebody does have some penned up somewhere in West Texas by my buddies ranch because I heard some awesome bugling last Fall. Maybe one will slip out

I won't get over 300 feet of elevation this year 
I need a break anyway. Last year we hiked from 8500' to 11,500 feet in a driving whiteout in the dark only to find out we got beat to the top by some fat guys on a paid horse hunt who blew all the elk out.
Public land elk hunting pisses me off.
