I'm sure their tune would change if she stopped giving them money.

I would never let any stupid politician come between me and my parents. This mindset in the US right now that politics and political beliefs are somehow paramount is just silly.

People who cut off family only because of politics are dumbasses.

Agreed. I have an aunt and uncle with whom I vehemently disagree with but we are still close. We just don’t talk about politics. We also don’t follow each other on social media so that helps.

All the soys in the comments saying "Cult! Cult! She's in a cult!" when the act of ostracizing and abandoning a family member is the actual cult behavior.

her son Jake runs & produces her podcast. he rolls his eyes when she goes full chantard with Q stuff.
I like her but she had on Patrick Byrne in several click bait part 1 and 2 podcasts. Byrne said nothing different. He said he has BHO signing off on rape and murder.

That’s liberals for you. The most intolerant people on the planet. I have many people I associate with who are moderate and even liberal. I can get along and respect anyone. Liberals are incapable of that.

As a gay guy, a ton of my friends turn into clapping seals when politics come up.
We know we disagree and we choose not to talk about it. Our friendships and support of each other is more important than what people who don’t even have a clue who we are do in DC.
I do find myself becoming a sounding board when a few have called me up and said, “I just can’t with the Democrats anymore.”
To which I say:

I'm assuming this isn't what you meant.

I have that exact scenario. We just avoid talking politics and go on about our lives.

Several in my family have done the same. Brother and I were very close until he found out I wasn't going to vote for Biden. I'm proud that I'm not the one who cut folks off for different views.

She's Jewish, and most of them vote dem, so it's not surprising.
I never really liked Roseanne. She glorified being white trash and her stunt during the national anthem was pretty classless.

I think the real issue and cutting off friends and family due to political reasons is the fact that the two different sides are totally different people outside of politics as well.
Just totally different people.
So I understand.

My family is divided on political choices too. We discuss politics sometimes but avoid too long a discussion because it will get HOT.
We base our choices on our own personal beliefs. It is normal that there be divisions in families about a whole host of topics.
I have a brother who I agree with on most political policy, but sometimes he will take it too far and begin telling others they are wrong.
No matter which side, the first to start throwing out the words "you're wrong" sets up real divisions.

I can understand that viewpoint too. They don't have to hang out together all of the time, but on the occasions that you do (birthdays, holidays, weddings, funerals, graduations, etc.) people can at least be cordial, say hello, shake hands, inquire about family, etc. and then move on. Some just lose their ever loving minds though and absolutely refuse to be in the same room or event as another family member.
You just have to avoid talking about politics and religion for a couple of hours. There has to be something anyone can talk about with another and not end up in a fight.
