July 16, 1969: Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin begin their mission to land the first men on the moon.

That's exactly what "they" want you to think ...

But in July, '68, 7 y/o me was eating this shite up. NASA was big in our house.

And to think the records and technical data have been misplaced. Ooops.

Oh hell, now all the "we didn't go to the moon, you sheeple" people will infect the thread with their nonsense. But hey... if we are lucky, maybe we will get graced by the presence of a few "the earth is flat" idiots. So there's that.

Got me! I was actually 8 y/o. I should have double checked the date or, at a minimum, woken up completely before posting.

Nevertheless, NASA was big in my house growing up and remained so through the shuttle program. Our next door neighbor worked for NASA and I remember taking trips with my brothers and his sons out the Michoud facility for private tours in the early/mid-60s.

That seems like it was so long ago but only two years before I was born.... Which doesn't feel that long ago

I’ve posted a couple of these before but think it’s super cool.

My uncle worked at NASA his entire career as an engineer. Received this from the crew after they got back home. Not bad for a baw from Basile, LA.
