Why is it a waste? If its something you enjoy and that you can afford, its not a waste IMO.

Some people spend their money on expensive vacations, some on cars, some on watches, some on boats/hunting camps... As long as they arent going into debt and failing to live up to other obligations, do what makes you happy.

Whats the alternative? Save more than you will ever spend and then never enjoy the fruits of your labor?

Trying to keep my 14 year old BMW running.

I used to have a boat but it was too much paying for the slip and barely using it.

I used to collect things like minerals and knives and stuff.

Now I barely have enough to pay bills

craft beer, zyn, guns, hunting, and fishing. the hunting and fishing aren't really a waste. I enjoy the piss out of it.

I have far more colognes than I can ever possibly wear. Most were bought discounted, but it’s frivolous spending, nonetheless.

I bought fertilizer for my lawn because I was convinced we were going to get another major drought and wanted new parts of my lawn to get re-established before July of this year.

The fertilizer was organic....and let's just say you wouldn't be able to make chicken salad out of it. It stunk, but the instructions said the odor would go away after a few days. Except it rained and got really humid/hot; which just made the whole yard smell horrible. I can't believe I paid for this.

On the bright side it worked extremely well. But now we don't have a drought, so I have to mow my lawn twice a week for a while.
