Is LAX the worst airport in the US

I've been to all the majors in the US and somehow managed to avoid LAX until now. But that place is awful. Absolutely disgusting. And the rental car situation is a complete shite show

LAX is a good one as far as the worst goes. The eagle terminal is one of my least favorite experiences given the bus ride then baggage claim. It's been a while for me since I've been through LAX but I remember it not being pleasant.
Im going to nominate a few other candidates for this thread and let others here chime in
Newark, NJ (EWR)
Miami, FL (MIA)
Orlando, FL (MCO)
The other 2 NY airports (LGA/JFK)
Atlanta, GA (ATL)

Not by a longshot, especially if you are flying Delta and out of Terminal 3. The Skylounge there is amazing and it's a breeze through TSA.

The renos are giving it new life. A few years ago, Id fully agree. Not anymore

LAX can fark itself. Having to walk out of security (more than 100m with luggage), outside the airport on an international flight (inbound) and then go through security again on a domestic flight? F Off.)
I thought LGA sucked with nothing to eat but Auntie Annie's, or ORD with 500 seats worth of planes parked at a concourse with 110 seats, but LAX can get stuffed.

I've never had an issue. Walk out, get on bus, ride is about 5 min... Go up escalator, get in my car, leave.
Leaps and bounds above the 20+ min ride from MSY to the rental car center.

I don’t mind LAX really at all. JFK, Orlando and Atlanta can all get fricked. Not a fan of Houston either. Dallas continues to show why it’s a better city by every metric including the airport.

If flying international and having to change planes, IAH here in Houston is the worst, you can wait in a single file line for 2 hours
I’ve walked past it a dozen times and have spoken to people who have waited in it

Miami is the worst in my opinion.

I connected to a flight to the Dominican Republic twice and the bathroom was almost third world.
Another bathroom-related rating: I flew in/out of Buffalo a few times and everything seemed old. The flooring around the bathroom urinals was worn away from the decades of acidic piss. I hope they fixed it up since then.

I flew United outta there yesterday and thought it was fine. No line to tag and drop bag and made it through security in 15 or so mins. I guess it depends on the terminal

LAX is terminal dependent.
The biggest issue is the horseshoe setup which turns into a traffic nightmare if you are stuck in one of the far terminals.
Also not having the metro go directly to the airport was exceptionally stupid

I don’t know, I can’t think of many better to connect through honestly.

Atlanta is the worst airport in the history of aviation.

These are actually pretty nice now, at least as far as the Delta/United terminals go
ETA: MCO is the worst followed by FLL (Delta terminals)

Newark but IMO is the easiest to fly in and out of and get to midtown.

Never flown into LAX, but coming back from internationally and flying into Miami was pretty bad.
We went to LA in June and flew into Long Beach. I highly recommend using LGB if that is ever an option. Easiest and quickest airport I have ever been to.

Miami for me….by a pretty wide margin actually.

Long Beach, Ontario, and Burbank are all great airports
