Bronny James proves the NBA is a complete joke and I'm so happy I quit watching years ago!

In the old days, the NBA was about team, skills, rivalries and winning world championships, but sadly, it has become nothing more than a traveling circus and the drafting of Bronny James just further proves that point!

Everyone knows the only reason Bronny was drafted was because of daddy, and that in itself, is a complete travesty and a slap in the face to all professional athletes. As a result, those college basketball players that truly have the talent to play in the NBA, won't be given that opportunity to fulfill those dreams because of Daddy James!

By all accounts, Bronny is a great kid, which is awesome and we need more kids just like him, but he clearly doesn't have the talent to play in the NBA and it's not even close!

The numbers say it all:

High school: 14.2 ppg
College: 4.8 ppg

And he's only 6-1 1/2!

To further confirm what a joke the NBA has become, the Lakers gave Bronny a $7.9M GUARANTEED contract and he's now headed to the G League to work on improving his game!

You can't make this stuff up! Only 59 days until LSU football starts and it can not get here soon enough!

Happy 4th of July! God Bless America!

Yet you make a thread about it.

I mean the fact he was drafted was a joke. Not sure why anyone would defend the nba at this point. I love basketball but the nba has lost its way.

Enh that’s what happens when the league’s biggest star basically takes over a franchise. Nepotism.

The Lakers aren’t the NBA and neither is Labron. This is there issue and one done out of nepotism and a miscalyIMO of the marketing potential with the two..

The league is in a good place these days with rising talent from all over the world.. Adam Silver is the right Nerd the NBA needed

They got to keep a top tier athlete happy - possibly with a pay cut- by shifting money and a super non premium pick to his son?

Complete joke may be overstated

Oh I agree.

But to say the NBA is a joke and that you don't watch it anymore yet make a thread about.....the NBA, is hypocritical and the OP is talking out of both sides of his mouth.

I just recently started watching again after quite a few years away. The game is changing back to fundamentally sound basketball. I still have a major issue with the Euro step but that’s a different thread.

With that said, you’re upset with the entire league because one team wasted a 2nd round pick on a kid that’s not going to play but maybe a minute or two for photographer sessions?

How is that the leagues problem? The Lakers are the one that wasted their pick. Would have had a problem if the, let’s say, the Hawks just picked some random off the streets with their 2nd round pick? Would you hate the league?

The crying over this is so childish.

My only issue with the Bronny pick is that no other team drafted him and subsequently fleeced the Lakers in a trade.

I guess Rich Paul and Klutch wield a lot of power over other teams with other high profile players.

I read where the 55th pick last year got like 600k very little guaranteed. Compared to what Bronny got sums up how insane his situation is.
