People that work in Louisiana, what's the hardest company to get into in your field?

Can be any field. Law, Medical, Accounting, Engineering, etc.
What would be the company that every LSU student would go for that only take in a few people each year?
All in BR/NOLA/Louisiana not a company like Google or Goldman Sachs that doesn't have work here.
Any that are known to be notoriously tough?

I’m not sure there are very many “big companies” left here.
I mean there are a few big law firms that have offices.
Obviously there are competitive medical residencies.

I actually do not know who is the hardest firm to get into. I will see big lawsuits filed by boutique firms I've never heard of and then go look at their website and it's all Ivy League and T14 law school grads. Then I'll see Jones Walker slummin these days with Loyola grads.

I'm an accountant and being GM of the saints seems to be a difficult gig to land.

I always thought Stone Pigman for law.

I've had lawyer friends tell me Louisiana clown arse civil law keeps a lot of good lawyers away. Is there any truth to that?

Our civil/criminal procedure is the same as everyone else's, at the technical level.
Our "civil" system relies on jurisprudence, and all of the "common law" systems use code books. It's all basically the same shite these days.
I think our only area of law that's actually different is our property law. Now I don't really do much with property/real estate law, and I know nothing of how common law property works, so I could not tell you why.

Most well paying jobs in Louisiana are hard to get into. The state has a very protectionist mindset.
For one, the economy here isn't that the great. Second, Louisiana has one of the strictest occupational license requirements in the country. The "good ole baw" network is a real thing.
It's probably the least meritocratic state in the country and it shows in all the rankings.

I’ve heard it’s hard to get on, but once you’re an Exxon company man, it’s a big gravy train until retirement.

That guy that operates the drawbridge in Larose on the graveyard shift with that sweet Ford Ranger parked on the shoulder, that position.
