With less than 40 days until the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, OMEGA is gearing up for the global sporting event with a new timepiece offering. This release sees a refreshing Seamaster Aqua Terra reference deriving its inspiration from eight-time pole vaulting world record holder, Armand “Mondo” Duplantis.

Housed in a 41mm stainless steel watch case, the timepiece spotlights a sporty blue dial in the model’s classic opaline finish but rendered in a horizontally striped texture for a twist. This is elevated with a splash of yellow that adorns the quarter-hour markers, the Seamaster logo as well as a pole-vault-shaped-central seconds hand.

Retailing for $6,300 USD, the time-teller is accompanied by a textured rubber strap that echoes the hue of its dial. More details regarding the new Seamaster Aqua Terra can be found on OMEGA’s official website.

Nice looking watch, a little too high of a bar to clear on price.

I have an Aqua Terra and it’s a really nice watch. Not a big fan of those colors though on a watch. Watch would look better with a bracelet.

The should've made the second hand look like a pole vault pole.

It's the colors of the Swedish flag. If the USOC didn't have its head up its arse it could be red white and blue.

That’s nice! I have a similar AT with the Blue rubber band and a grey dial.

Disappointing....they should have made it a Jump Hour Watch.

Jump Hour

Most watches display the hour by the position the hour hand is pointing as it slowly sweeps across the dial. Watches with a jump hour complication have an hour hand that does not slowly sweep between the hours. Instead, it points exactly at the current hour and jumps to the next hour as soon as the 60th minute of the current hour is over.

Theoretically this makes telling the time a bit easier, as the current hour is always being pointed at directly. Some watches with jump hour complications use discs with imprinted digits as opposed to hands. The jump minute complication is popular as well. As you can imagine, it is identical to the jump hour complication with the exception that it indicates minutes instead of hours.

I get the reason they did it and don’t mind it on the face I just think the band is a little much and it would look better with a bracelet to tone it down a little.

Can’t wait for all the people that know nothing about track and field coming in and throwing a fit about him competing for Sweden.

It's supposed to be a sports watch, thus the rubber strap
