Goddamn, they’re really trying hard to make the younger generations want to get the hell out, don’t they? Whatever happened to child labor laws?

LA’s legislature is absolute clownery. To all of those who voted for Landry - I hope you’re proud of what you’ve done.

I’m sure his office was inundated from calls and emails from teens furious about the 3-5 (pre-tax) dollars they didn’t earn during their 20 min break.

pretty sure the law before didn't say that it had to be a PAID break. It just says a break. So maybe kids just want to work through and make more $? Now they can have that choice.

They might eat a THC gummy on their lunch break. It's for their own protection.

Internet porn, THC, teen lunch breaks.

This state focuses on some stupid shite when we have massive issues that actually impact a lot of its citizens.

Not a Landry fan and I didn’t vote for him obviously but let’s be real here. What candidate is Louisiana going to put up there that will be legitimately making changes?

Louisiana politics is an endless black hole controlled by the machine. Always has been. Always will be. It will never be like any other states. It lives and dies on nepotism, back door deals, favors and blatant corruption.

Don’t waste your time. Deal with it or leave like many do

Mostbof today's 16 and 17 year olds would be better off skipping some meals.

It’s not ending lunch breaks for them. It’s ending mandatory lunch breaks for them.

Not what the bill does at all. It makes it optional to take a break. If you’re working a 5 hour shift, do you really need a break anyway?

I wonder if the bill’s sponsor will unilaterally end lunch breaks for his smoothie king employees and fire anyone who opposes?

Exactly. If I need a break, I'll take one or ask for one. I don't need the state to hold my hand and make me lose out on what little money I can earn.
