Just a note: Part 1 is also on Max if anyone wants to make a night of it.

Someone’s never seen the directors cut of the Lord of the Rings if you are commenting on 6 hours of movie watching.

I fricked around and waited too long to see it in the theater, and just watched it last night. I really enjoyed it, but the experience was definitely hurt by not seeing it on the big screen.

I wanted to buy it in 4K but was sold off the shelves locally. Rack was nearly empty except for standard dvd copies

The scenes on Arrakeen are awesome but so fricking weird. I'll definitely have to hit youtube for some more breakdowns of what i just watched. Then I'll probably watch it again.

My only issue with the movie was the odd time shifts that occurred when they were all traveling north

The "big scene" has to be completely different outside of a theater with the proper audio system. You fricking felt that scene through the sound mixing and speakers.

What scene is that?

I watched last night and thought it was good, but will have to go back and rewatch to fully understand things. I've read its tough to pick up on the first pass if you haven't read the books or whatnot.

My only gripe is Walken being cast as the Chancellor or whatever. Terrible casting IMO.

Go back and watch the first one and then rewatch the second. Things make a lot more sense. I really liked 2 the first time I watched it, but I went home and watched 1 and then went see 2 again. Like I said, I really liked it the first time around but the second time around it’s top notch film making.

THIS. I even checked that I didn’t randomly skip forward a couple of times when I was watching.

As a non book reader, I found watching with the subtitles on made it way easier for my wife and I to follow who was who and what was what since the names and terminology is all so foreign

Yeah I’m still mad at myself for putting it off for so long. There’s a handful of movies every year that NEED to be seen in the theater, and this was one of them…I blew it.
