I LOVE that term. El Nino means less hurricanes.
I hate that they started naming winter storms. I don't know if it is just a Weather Channel thing, or if these names are official.

Be weather aware is right up there with ‘social distance’ and the ‘new normal’ when it come to trigger words that makes me want to punch the nearest to me a-hole in the face.

Super Fog
Sub-tropical depression
invest
New terms were created to make everything spookier.
Also shite like, " it's cold out, so be sure to wear your coat" or "it's hot out, be sure to apply that sunscreen," it's like no shite.. When did the weather people become your parents?

I get it, and “bomb cyclone” has become a term the media loves, but the meteorological phenomenon of bombogenesis is a real thing. Has to do with the rapid deepening of a midlatitude cyclone over a certain period of time.

Totally agree with this one. The lightning that people think is “heat lightning” during the summer is actually just the flash from lightning in a storm a long way away. Summertime thunderstorms are very tall so the flash from lightning can be seen from a great distance, beyond where the sound of thunder can be heard.

I don’t hate these terms, but what in the hell is the difference in partly cloudy and partly sunny. Ifs it’s partly cloudy outside , isn’t it also partly sunny???
