Question for dentists or doctors

I’ve been having jaw pain on my right side only when opening my mouth to yawn or take a bite of food. It doesn’t hurt to chew or anything. It hurts kinda near the back of the jaw. I had a back tooth pulled back in January but that socket has been healed for some time now. Any ideas what it could possibly be?

Well, you’ve certainly come to the right place for expert advice.

TMJ?
The thought crossed my mind. My wife (no pics) had that a few years ago but I had never heard of that until then.

Nice. Exact same problem here.
InB4 the OP and I need to stop gagging on each other cocks.
I’ll monitor this thread.
Left lower molar extraction. Wasn’t miserable just a regular unpleasant dental procedure.

Likely TMD. Go see your provider.
They may offer some Botox to help.

Don’t open your mouth. Pain gone.
You’re welcomed.

Call the dentist who pulled your tooth

Could be BJ Jaw from overuse

I'm glad that you know that dentists aren't doctors.

It could be from the stress put on the joint of the jaw when the dentist removed your tooth. Sometimes they can put a lot of pressure there. Just a thought.

I think it’s fairly distinct… the pain will be focused around the joint. Do you ever feel a popping sensation when you open your mouth wide or chew?
Not a doctor or dentist, but I did have a TMJ issue that lasted a year or so. Dentist said it was probably from grinding/clenching my teeth. I would feel my jaw pop and I would get this awful burning sensation that extended into my ear canal. It never really felt like a toothache or anything. Made an effort to avoid grinding my teeth and eventually it went away on its own.

Was a 3D X-ray taken before you had the extraction? If not, it may be a good idea to have one done now since you are experiencing pain. Ask your dentist if he has one or if he needs to refer you out to someone who does.

CGS - Cock Gobbling Syndrome....
stop gobbling cocks and the pain should go away.

Took far too long for this post. Disappointed in the OT this morning.

You should ask a real doctor for advice, abka chiropractor.

Dry needling the TM joint can help TMJ.
