Vulture, snake, fox, coyote would’ve gotten it within 24 hours. Of course some women would say that’s just 4 different types of men.

But there is such thing as too big.

I think we can agree on several things:

-Porn has ruined men's idea of a worthy woman

-Romance novels like 50 shades of Grey and Hallmark movies have ruined women's sense of a worthy man

-The relationship sphere is dominated by stupid online dating trends or the onlyfans bimbos and Andrew Tate manwhores.

-Women may voice height/money requirements but its not uncommon to see these same women violating their own "demands" (something I think dating apps don't allow to happen)

I didn’t want it to suffer for 24 hours.

Apparently it shifts as the hormones change through the month and birth control locks them in the post Ovulation phase that favors betas. Science

Such is life when your man can cook better than you.

The most common personality trait ‘turn offs’ I’ve heard discussed amongst the single older women I’m friends with include game playing, manipulation, ambivalence, general immaturity and emotional stuntedness.

I’m in that 35+ age bracket, but I agree with this statement being true for me from the time I started dating on. Some are just better at hiding it for longer than others

To be clear -- by MEN I presume? HA -- you're right in 95% of the cases. BUSTED!

Yet...."General immaturity and emotional stuntedness" should mean we are given that mulligan, no? (As a group, we really never do "grow up" much do we? INSIDER SECRET: We all sign an oath in gym locker rooms and garages by age 11 to "remain 12 years old emotionally in perpetuity" ....ssshhhh.... )

Me? Of all things you could say about me, you think this applies? My entire life is built around the ability to connect and communicate.

Men start a thread about what women want. Women show up to tell men what they want. Men tell women why they are wrong. OT tale as old as time.

Again, it's fool's gold to listen intently to women as they "tell" you what they want. With women, WAY more than men, it is their ACTIONS that count. Women SHOW you what they want. And it's quite often the opposite of what they say. Why we have women on this thread asserting that women aren't emotional, that it's just an internet contrivance.

tbh- I have the humor and maturity of a 14 y/o boy too.

But- I am a very effective communicator when the need arises. I’m not bitchy about things either bc I believe you get better results with a drop of honey than you do a gallon of vinegar - and that decreases subsequent and unnecessary collateral fights/damage.

Confidence
Power
When I was dating, women were responsive to a man having confidence and a sense of humor.Self reliance was a must for a guy dating in the 70's & 80's.Guys didn't let women take care of them back then, the way I've seen happening since the 90's..When it came to serious relationships, women cared more about being in a relationship with a financially responsible guy than the best looking guy back then.

Not sure if those are important to young women in 2024. For around half of a recent college graduate's life, they've been conditioned to believe appearances are more important than reality. I bet a lot of them have no idea what the guys they date are like when they first go out. They probably go by what the guy's Instagram, twitter and tick tok pages are like.

I'm old and crippled up at 64, but I still get the same looks from women I got when I was a 22 year old Greek God. Even though I can't win many fights or even a footrace, I am still comfortable with who I am, what I've done, and what I will do .

quote:

Some women like dumb brutes who will use physical force to make them feel safe. Others like men who can use their brains to make money and bring them financial security.
Why not swing for the fence and be both smart and healthy?

Totally not necessary

And I can say that as a woman in her 40s that’s entered the dating pool a couple of times

Guy I’m with now loves to cook. I obviously was initially attracted to him cause I liked the way he looks. But his other qualities (excellent communication, genuine, patient, kindness) were what made me want to continue seeing him.

(Hey HEY! Just be grateful the men-folk here were actually gracious enough actually to start a thread that you wimmins-folk can actually participate in *without* seeing any "Make me a sammich!" requests)
