CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Numerous law enforcement officers have been struck by gunfire on Monday, according to police in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that multiple victims have been transported to hospitals and gunfire continued on the scene in the city.
Authorities did not say exactly how many officers were struck by gunfire amid early report from what police described as a still-active scene Monday afternoon. Many roads in the area were closed for faster ambulance transport. Police urged people to stay away from the area and asked residents to remain inside their homes.

Why does it feel like these periods of unrest coincide with election years?

This happens all the time
Trash gonna trash
We need more people in prison, not less

My guess is a shotgun fired from a distance at a group of police.

Twitter says marshalls were serving a warrant & someone at the house started shooting from the second floor.

Of our 33 most deadly mass shootings (10 or more deaths), only 2 occurred in election years, pre election. Aurora in 2012 and nyc in 84. Sandy Hook occurred in an election year, but post election. That seems to be less frequently than election years being 25% of the sample.
I used most deadly shootings since mass shootings have such a questionable and varying definition, used solely to skew stats.

Who is not aware of this as of now? Can we stop with this?

Do you think facts mean anything to the people making these claims?

Probably because the internet and the 24/7 news cycle are an all-you-can-eat buffet for your confirmation bias on the subject.
Confirmation Bias – people’s tendency to process information by looking for, or interpreting, information that is consistent with their existing beliefs.

I guess I stand corrected. It just feels like more shite pops up during election years.

Charlotte has it's bad areas like any other city.

Curious why you didn't just say "in Charlotte, NC".

Why does the reporter use “struck by gunfire” instead of “shot”? The wording is weird.

Unrest doesn't only mean mass shootings.

True, but people have been shooting at cops since the invention of guns and warrants.
