GOT - Three Eyed Raven

I think one of the most universally agreed upon misgivings with the end of GOT was Bran ending up on the throne.
Terrible ending for sure, but what makes it worse was the absolutely wooden Bran Stark post him becoming the TER.
The TER before him was not like that. Sure, he was confined to the tree, but he spoke normally and not as some robotic entity.
Was Bran a more advanced version of the TER thus losing more of his humanity? Was he instructed to act that way by the directors/GRRM or was the kid just a terrible actor?

When he tells Arya and Sansa and they’re like “Wtf? Ooooookay. Anyway”

He's telling everybody, that he isn't Bran anymore. He's basically a zombie that you can't have a normal conversation with and stares off into space like he has gotten a lobotomy.
But up comes along Tyrion and says let's appoint BRAN THE BROKEN, he all of a sudden isn't the three eyed raven anymore, and I guess is totally ok being not only Bran Stark but his whole life lead up to him being King! Wtf happened to the weirdo you were going to be and not even wanting to be Bran, much less the king.
"Why do you think I came all this way?" Well dumbass, it's because all the people you were completely ungrateful to carried and pulled your arse all that way.

After Arya killed the Night King I wondered what the point of his journey even was. What did he do besides frick up Hodor?
I guess I always assumed it would be some sort of battle between the two of them.

That scene was so awful. And the comedic final scene was corny as can be. That entire last season was just ridiculous.

Jaime should have cut his throat before leaving to be with Cersei

It's so so bad. Like it's mind-blowing how bad it is.

I was disappointed in Bloodraven / Max von Sydow in the show.
The set / costume / dialog and delivery, (does Sydow even tell Bran "he will never walk again, but will fly...") Just remembered, Sydow replaced the original casting that had that line. Should have stuck with the original...
They could have done SO much more with that entire sequence.
The tower of joy should have been so much better.
The children could have been better...
At least we had the reveal that the Children did create the Others/WWalkers... But still.
I will give them credit for "hold the door". That was well done.

Just re-watched that meeting between bloodravan and Bran at the end of season four. Really should not have replaced the original actor for 3er.
Also season 4 was the last great season...

Yea pre-woke GOT would’ve had the night king kill Bran.

I haven't even heard or seen anyone complaining about him the last year. I think everyone has just given up hope that he ever will finish the books up.

This begs the question of if he did all that weirdo dumb shite because he knew it would lead to him being king. Which kinda makes him even more of an a-hole if you think about it.

The show wasn’t interested in exploring anymore fantasy/magic elements than they absolutely had to.
I kinda get it because big battles and dragons brought ratings. But you can’t not tell us what the hell the 3 eyed raven is or does besides he’s “the worlds memory”.

Yes.

the real question is, the farther out we go do you shift more blame to GRRM than D&D?
Yes they rushed it and fricked up, but they were absolutely amazing at adapting the books u til there were no books.
also GRRM is going to put out 2 books that are essentially long enough for 6 more seasons.

One of my favorite lines in the book. Legit got chills when I read it. I kind of took it literal too
But yes, it's in the show, and was pretty well delivered, but not as memorable,

MV Sydow was miscast. A rare miss for that show.

quote:I'm pretty sure that's been George's plan the whole time. The first chapter of the first book is a Bran chapter, so I've always expected it to end with him.
most universally agreed upon misgivings with the end of GOT was Bran ending up on the throne.
He's basically omniscient, so if they don't make him king, he'll just be the all-knowing seer of the Stark family. I don't think anyone would want to live in a kingdom where one family knows everything about everyone. The best they can do is make him king and surround him with people from different families to have any influence whatsoever.
The ending actually makes sense if you think about it.
