Everything sucks these days
Don't you know?
The cost to make all goods is way up and establishments now cut corners (and portions) wherever they can
I would go to Juans in NOLA all the time. When I recently returned I knew something was off with their flying burrito.
It used to come with sour cream and guac inside of it.
Now that is conveniently left off the menu description and the price has even gone up.
And they don't give you free ramikins of salsa with a to go order.
Sorry for the rant
but yes everything is shitty now

Always sucked
After John was ousted I don't think I've had one of their pies. I'm curious though at one time their specialty pizzas rocked. Crust was always right.
Fact no one cares about: Coursey location will be my next delivery order.

Yer best chance for Godfather's pizza is inside a Love's Country Store™, but there are stand alone Godfather's pizza stores still operating in the US. If you make a road trip to Wichita I know they have one, Google maps says Topeka and KC do as well. Looks like a few more in Missouri. Those are all stand alone, dine in restaurants.
All pizza chains today are still trying (in vain) to recapture the flavor of what Godfather's had in the early 80's.
Franchise opportunities are available.
RIP in peace Herman Cain.

In Knoxville there were two stores of a franchise called something like Brick Oven Pizza.
We tried one. There were no brick ovens, no piles of firewood outside, not even a propane tank. The dough was very like that foccacio you buy and add your own ingredients.
Back to home made dough on a stone in a 400 degree oven.

Hungry Howies about the only “chain pizza” I’ll eat. Half Cajun, half ranch crust
Why not do the Cajun and ranch in all of it?

If Pizza Hut would go back to making fresh dough they would easily be the best by far. For now, Jet's is the best imo. Fox's Pizza Den is legit also.
As for Godfathers there's a new location that opened in Kenner.

My first job was PapaJohns in 1998. The pizza and such they serve today is NOT what we made back then. They've cheaped out on the quality of toppings. It's just garbage now. It's a shame

Pizza is so subjective, as evidenced by the posts here.
I travel a lot for work so my hierarchy is for the big chains is:
Pizza Hut - I like their product the best but it's inconsistent, their online ordering process sucks, and delivery is spotty
Papa Johns - I like their ultimate pepperoni specialty pizza and the garlic dipping sauce is good.
Dominos - Extremely consistent, they're everywhere, and their online ordering is the easiest.
Little Caesar's - Haven't had it in years, the McDonald's of pizza IMO
I live near several Godfathers locations but have never tried it, will have to soon.

I’m also gonna throw Papa Murphy’s in this mix, but nobody here knows what that is unless you’re from or traveled to Savannah, or Tennessee.
Bro, Papa Murphy's isn't some hidden regional gem:

Hey, I admit some people like soft floppy doughy crust with sugary sweet sauce. I'm not one of those people.

There’s a chain called Lost Pizza Co that started here in Indianola and I always eat there. It’s a nicer sit down chain and beats the hell out of any fast food pizza chain

PJ has always been mid. Only redeeming quality was ordering the nacho sauces for crust dipping.

Yeah Pizza Hut is good when you have a reliable location
I’m still upset the lunch buffet never returned to our Pizza Hit after Covid
Best deal in town to get all you can eat for 5.99

Pizza Inn thin crust is the GOAT but they’re hard to find now.

Marcos is my favorite out of the big chains. Papa John’s was better years ago.

Sbarro is (was?) legit af. I mean I haven’t seen one in like 15 years but it used to be.
Eating a slice of sbarro pepperoni with a coke while playing in the mall arcade is as good of a nostalgic memory for me as a kid as trips to blockbuster
