Headed to BR in 2 weeks. Looking for restaurant suggestions. Nothing fancy. Prefer to get my fill of Louisiana cuisine but open to all suggestions. I’ve done Elise’s Pie, Parrains, Mike Anderson’s, Dragos all in the past. Just looking for other suggestions as well. Maybe there’s a “must try” or hole-in-the-wall spot I’ve never heard of.
Thanks in advance

Get some chargrilled oysters in the bar at Mansur's.

Louisiana Lagniappe is the best "Louisiana food" restaurant in town IMO. Juban's is also very good, but a little trendier. Mansur's is good. Phil's oyster bar is a casual authentic oyster bar that is good.

Along the line of small, locally owned spots (like Elsie’s), try Jasmine on the Bayou, or Cecilia or Cocha downtown. Umami near LSU has good sushi if looking for that. If Italian, throw Nino’s into the mix. Also second the recommendation for Lagnaippe for seafood, French Market Bistro has a nice vibe and food (same owners as Mansur’s).
