Nashville Tailgates/Bars/Hang outs?

Posted by lsutigerfan97 on 10/14/25 at 9:07 am
Making the trip up to Nashville this weekend. Wanted to see if anybody knew of a TAF tailgate, LSU tailgating spots, where to tailgate with LSU faithful, LSU Bars, or just cool places on or around campus to tailgate on Saturday. Appreciate any advice, recommendations, etc. will be my first trip to Vandy game in Nashville. TIA
I know I am. I just saw a piece that Lonn put up and wanted to see. It’s not clearly stated. I’ve heard contract dispute originally too but didn’t know if that was truly accurate and now it’s been years, thought someone might know more detail

What happened to Jordy Culotta

Anybody know the reasoning why he was fired from 104.5? Like what’s the real reason

And that is what I mean by “unless some of these are no longer on scholarship technically”. Maybe you pay the kid an NIL deal worth the cost for them to pay their own way as a walk on.. not sure how the SEC could enforce anything like that against that.

For instance I could see in state guys like Austin Ausberry taken off scholarship but provided an NIL deal that covers any costs he has to accrue due to paying his own way. In reality, you could probably do this for 20 in-state guys on your roster that will have cheaper in state tuition and add 20 more players from the portal (if NIL money wasn’t an issue)

Exactly… like I said more will have to leave if we add more…

Incorrect, the SEC will stay at 85 scholarship players in 2025. See LINK

Does anybody have a running list of portal target that has been actually reported we are pursuing?

TIA

Blake Shapen Miss State Portal

Posted by lsutigerfan97 on 12/7/24 at 12:29 pm
Shreveport native Blake Shapen played 4 games for Mississippi State this season. Also played three years at Baylor. Should be able to receive a redshirt this year and will be a RS SR next season. If Nussmeier comes back, we should target him to compete for the #2 spot. Would give us 3 QBs with SEC experience on the roster…He has not entered the portal yet, but likely will with Jackson Arnold headed to State.

Career Stats: 6548 yards passing, 64.3% completions, 44TD, 14INTs, 220 yards rushing, 8TD

Patrick Kutas Portal Intel

Posted by lsutigerfan97 on 12/6/24 at 9:12 pm
Patrick Kutas from Arkansas hit the portal yesterday. I know of his family, he grew up an LSU fan and has family that went to LSU. I think there is a good shot we can land him. Plus he was originally recruited by Brad Davis at Arkansas before he took the job here.

Started at C,RT,LG
25 games played/13 starts
Will be a redshirt JR.
#3 transfer portal player at the moment

Times of Interest?

Posted by lsutigerfan97 on 10/11/24 at 11:04 am
Anybody know when LSU will announce the times of interest for game day tomorrow? Did I miss it?
Way too early to make that assumption. He certainly will be on the roster all of the 2024 season. He’s not leaving before the season starts. Bad take. He will be competing for QB2 all summer.
John Emery is a 6th year graduate. He graduated in May
Swann has 12 starts under his belt. If Nuss goes down mid game, Swann will be going in, plain and simple. That’s why he was brought in. Until we visibly see him sh*t the bed in an actual game, he is the backup plan.

They aren’t putting an inexperienced Collins or Hurley in mid game. Those guys might be the “backup” vs Nicholls and South Alabama, but not the big games.
PJ Woodland isn’t starting at 165lbs over Johnson and Toviano. Now if he puts on weight, I will agree. We shall see.
Greg Penn has started 27 games at LSU. This is a stupid take. He’s arguably our most experienced guy on defense. Trust in Blake Baker and hopefully he can put him in positions to succeed.

If any Weeks brothers were to start of Greg it would be Whit, not West.
If you read the first sentence of my post you’d see that I said scholarship players only. Hickey is a walk on. He can certainly factor in though. Counting Hickey there’s 8 total DTs that could probably get an opportunity for playing time.
I would say he definitely has a good shot just like all of them do. The cornerback and DT depth is probably gonna be different every single game.
