Think Cali would be a red state today if Japan took our carriers out at Pearl Harbor and started bombing the West Coast?

Exactly. I'd like to hear Tucker explain what should have been done differently. Prolonging the war with a mainland invasion that causes countless more deaths seems far more "evil" to me.

There would have been revolution in the US if it got out that we sacrificed a million men to invade Japan while holding the war winning weapon.

We are not living in the 1940's. Today, many countries have nuclear weapons. And any country that uses nuclear weapons of that magnitude against another these days is more than likely going to trigger mutual destruction and a war like this world has never seen.

I agree with Tucker.

God nuked two cities because they they were depraved and unrepentant.

Bataan Death march… rape of Nanking … etc..
Japan was clearly depraved and even after all was lost they wanted to fight to the last man…unrepentant.. would not surrender!
So give Japan what they want…
Let them fight to the last man woman and child because this is what they clearly wanted to do…. BUT when they saw they could not take American soldiers with them, only then did they submit.
We not only saved American lives, we saved hundreds of thousands of Japanese lives by ending that holocaust.

of course the lack of reading comprehension. no the Japanese were at fault. United States had interests in Asia. have you heard of Port Arthur? it would have given a naval port for the US in the region. When Japan annexed Manchuria, it took away a vital strategic port.

contrary to popular belief about the US being isolationists in the 30s and 40s we were actually very active trying to gain influence in Asia. you dorks just don't understand the nuances of geopolitics.

wasn't a "good thing", but it was a very necessary thing. Saving millions of lives and put an end to the war. Who could possibly argue with that?

No one should or could argue it being of sane and reasonable mentality.

Can't cuck the Tuck.

I've been telling y'all this. If you can't for a moment separate yourself from rah rah America and ask did we do the right thing, you are not emotionally mature.

No one celebrates dropping a nuke.

Do you think ultimately it was the right thing to do?

Nagasaki was a weird target even if it was a secondary target. Nagasaki had the highest Catholic population in Japan and the largest POW camp.

I have to disagree with him on this. We didn't drop enough on them. At the time the Japanese were the lowest form of humans on earth. We would have lost 10s of 1000s of soldiers if we had to invade Japan.

They were performing genocide in China and the Asian pacific. They tortured our soldiers and raped, tortured and murdered innocent men, women, and children

Imagine thinking Japan was justified because the US provoked them into attacking us.

I won’t necessarily say that it was a “good” thing. What I will say is that if we didn’t, the outcome would’ve been as bad as anything in human history.

I’m certainly glad I wasn’t the one that had to make that decision.

I don’t celebrate the bombings of Hiroshima or Nagasaki or hell even Tokyo and Hamburg and Dresden (which were far worse in scope). But I can also recognize that we were in an all out war. And as Patton said “the object of war is not to die for your country. It’s to make the other dumb bastard die for his.”

And furthermore, the fricking Japs started that shite and got their just desserts.
