OT Lawyers - Should My Niece Retain a Lawyer? (Car Wreck)

Looking for general advice from OT experts on seeking a personal injury lawyer for my niece. I haven’t practiced tort law in several decades, and moved from Louisiana before tort reform took effect.
She was involved in a head-on collision in Baton Rouge roughly two weeks ago. She was driving through an intersection and a driver coming from the opposite direction turned into her lane, causing the accident. Her 2 year old daughter was in the backseat (car seat). Thankfully no one was seriously injured, including the driver who caused the accident.
The airbags deployed and she suffered a concussion from hitting her head on the dash or the windshield, along with multiple bruises. Her CT scans thankfully showed no brain bleeding but her headaches persisted for several days. Since the accident she has also had severe anxiety.
Her daughter in the back seat suffered abrasions from the seatbelts across her neck.
Should she consult an attorney given the current state of tort law? I told her if she does, to avoid billboard types. I know a few professional but small firms who have a lot of experience in the area.

I’m very concerned you came to Tigerdroppings to ask this question as your post implied you are an attorney yourself.

Why don't you ask them?

Yes. If you are an attorney you would know that this would be the smart move in 57 of the 50 states and Puerto Rico.

i have been practicing law in Baton Rouge since 1991, and have done personal injury. I now send everything to Greg Rozas. (225) 523-6457 because he's good.

You don't even say if the insurance covered medical costs.

Subtle I used to practice tort law brag is subtle

She should’ve asked to be transported to ER via ambulance and faked a dozen or so injuries.

All she has is anxiety? So do 300 million other Americans. Take meds or get over it naturally.

Seems a little premature to go with mental anguish. I understand what she's feeling but....

If you don't want the insurance company to run roughshod over them and pay them substantially less than what they would get with a lawyer then yes.

Have her pick a number between 2 and 9 and press it 7 times on her phone. Someone should answer that can help her.

The attorney is going to take 33%. See what the insurance company offers first.

Assuming this post is serious, yes a lawyer will maximize the recovery.
However this person probably has minimum insurance. 30k for multiple people. 15 max per person.
ETA to add underinsured insurance can pay also

So your niece and her young daughter did not get hurt in a head on collision (thankfully) yet you wanna file a lawsuit over anxiety.
I have anxiety and take medication for it. Probably 3/4 of the country does.
No need to go the Gordon/Morris route.

Not an attorney, the concussion would have me concerned about the long-term affects. I’d consult w a medical professional before talking to an attorney to discuss the severity of the concussion, and any potential long-term effects. Based on that consultation, I’d consider an attorney to make sure insurance doesn’t try to drop check me
I’d also look into if the car insurance will cover a new car seat for her daughter. I have heard that most companies will offer a replacement car seat if a child is involved in a MVA as there are too many “what ifs” that could compromise the integrity of the car seat.
