Owed about $2500.
Pretty pissed about it.
Wasn’t expecting a refund but did think it was going to be in the 500-1000 range.

ours is basically the same every year. we either have to pay less than $100 or we get back less then $100.

Got a small refund. I know that means that my withholdings were correct throughout the year but when I see how much I paid and think about how much easier my life would be if I had that money I get pissed AF. I'd feel a little bit better about it if I thought it were being used responsibly but just a little bit.

Went ok. Owed about $100 to feds and refund of same from state. I try to make it so it’s even or in this range owed vs a “refund” of my money or a surprise of owing several thousand.

We pay estimated taxes and I track things through the year to try to be as close to $0 as possible.

This year, we owed $48....closest I've ever been.

I didn't work for most of the year so I actually got some back. I paid plenty the year before though.

Self employed.
Run a few small businesses.
Getting a bit back, adjusting withholdings on my payroll to give the government less during the year of my money. Would rather owe them a little bit so they haven't had my money interest free during the year.

Owed $185 to Feds; got $135 back from state. About as close to breaking even as we could hope.

Anticipating our 2024 returns to be more of a mess between income changes & having an out of state employer.

Got back around 4.5k but owe the state $500. I always end up paying and this is the 1st year I’ll get a refund in about 10 years.

As always I’m waiting on my CPA to let me know at the 11th hour.

I’m just hopeful I’ll be close (+/-), I know I won’t be getting much back best case.

CPA did a great job this year and kept the number down. Signed everything yesterday for them to file. 2023 is done.

I just claim the usual married and 2 etc. and have always gotten money back. How much does one have to make before you have to pay back taxes instead of getting a refund. I've always wondered this.

Had a 1099-NEC cause a bit of a tax bomb this year, but everything outside of that was as expected. Fired it off a week or so ago.
