Anyone have a recipe?
Looked online to no avail.
Anyone in the same situation and make their own seasoning mix for a boil?
Congestive heart failure is a bitch.

I’d rather just die of heart failure. Just double up on the hydrochlorathyazide that night.
Couldn’t you just use the liquid and not add salt?

To get rid of the gamey taste a metric f-ton of lemons might help the liquid boil that is sodium free.
Salt usually does the heavy lifting.

Just use the bags, if you need it in powder form just grind what’s in the bags

Tough spot to be in. I’ve had to limit sodium intake before and I found that sometimes it was better to practice moderation instead of completely removing salt from a dish. So maybe you just eat less. It’s tough, I know. I’m not sure if that’s a reasonable option for you, but just a thought. Good luck and let us know if you experiment with recipes.

Are you allowed to eat potassium chloride? It contains no sodium, and tastes almost identical to salt.

That would taste absolutely terrible.

Your best bet is to buy some crawfish tails, cook them like bbq shrimp substituting a salt free Cajun seasoning and finish it off with something with a lot of acidity like vinegar or lemon juice. It will be good once the acidity is dialed in.

Chackbay seasoning? Everyone says you need to add salt with it...

Gonna try using the Zatarains Boil in Bag (0 Sodium) and doctor it up with other spices and see where that goes. Thanks to those with serious suggestions.
For those with useless criticisms as you hide anonymously behind a keyboard, I pray for you to stay healthy.
I’m smart enough to know how to handle my health decisions. Was just looking for friendly help to try to partake in one of the pleasures of south Louisiana.

there are plenty of other salts besides sodium chloride…potassium chloride as noted above could be an option though you might want to experiment on something else first.
maybe go low-sodium instead of no- sodium…mix a few salts together and see if you get the taste you like. Boiled crawfish really does need salt.
one other option is seawater if you have access to it

If you have kidney issues the potassium chloride salt options are not a good choice.

It doesn’t have much salt, but it still has some. I just looked and it’s 150mg per 1/4 tsp. There are 192 servings in the bag so 28,800mg or 28.8g.
That’s not a lot when it comes to a large pot of water.

How did that go? the taste of crawfish with the 0 sodium seasoning?
I wonder how they taste. I usually just use half of LA seasoning in a sack and add other flavors to them to make up. I don't like salty crawfish.
