One of the highlights of my summer in middle school. A little disappointed they rebranded. How involved is Joe Dean Jr these days?

Heck, that will trigger people as well.

To lynch is to hang. Another saying for hanging someone is "Stringing them up." How can they rename something they perceive as racist with something that is arguably even more racist?

My brother attended the DBC around 1977. He still talks about a motivational speech by Dale Brown as every kid was ready to run through a brick wall.

Soft.

They probably wont even let you call the group designated at camp as the "ABA", the "GayBA" anymore.

Man I have some great memories from that place playing on a carpeted court with zero air conditioning.

Must have smelled like absolute shite but we were kids so we didn’t care.

I’m not sure who is running the camp now but I went to Lee High School with Joe Dean’s daughter back in the mid 70’s. We hung out a lot because she was best friends with my girlfriend at the time. I know that she worked the cam every summer. Her boyfriend was also one of my good friends. I’m not sure if his daughter still has anything to do with the camp but if she does it would not surprise me with the name change. Two of her best friends are raging liberals who thought Obama was the greatest president ever

Man, reading this reminded me of the Bob Morgan basketball camps in the Baton Rouge area when I was younger. Wonder what ever happened to those.

Also, RIP Bob Morgan, a great man.

Great memories of my one time there. Went with my high school team along with alot of other high schools who sent their teams to this particular camp.

Fun fact, the best player there there the year I went, and there was no debate, you can ask anyone there - Tommy Hodson.
