Russia has always been a threat to Europe because they're a land power.

China ISN'T a threat to the U.S. because they lack the naval capability to project power over distance. They're also wholly dependent upon outside energy, outside agriculture, outside raw commodities, and outside markets. If they lose only one of those, they're done. We can take away all 4 at once.

They're not

You think they could take over and keep control of a country where 75% of the pop hates them

They dont have the money or the man power

At the end of this war they'll come away with 2 small regions of Ukraine

Stupid post. I’m not saying China doesn’t have problems. They probably are imploding in some way due to the population dilemma. But they are kicking our asses in more ways than not and have been since the 70s.

On social media, Chinese people watch patriotism videos while the US is bombarded with anti-America videos, probably by Chinese TikTok algorithms, Chinese kids want to be scientists and engineers when they grow up and American kids want to be dumbass influencers.

American kids today grow up hating their own country and wondering what pronouns they should use, Chinese kids develop a love for science, math and history at a young age. America builds statues to George Floyd and has Jacob Blake on Good Morning America. Which country is imploding, again? And China keeps their people in line by showing them what a shite show the US is, as an example of “why democracy is bad” and I can’t really argue with them there.

This has not been true for some time. China has been relying on smoke and mirrors for a long while now, especially in real estate. China has failed to develop a real economy. That's why they have to rely on government-backed bubbles and stealing technology. This is on top of their population crisis.

I really just dont know much about China. The things I hear about China, I just have a hard time believing whether it be pro or anti-China.

All you really need to know about how bad China is fricked can be seen on a simple map. Look at what they need to survive, then look at where it comes from and how it gets there. China is unable to survive outside of the order that the United States created in 1945 and that they joined in 1972. Unfortunately for China, we're no longer maintaining that order, especially for the Chinese.

Anyone who sits here thinking China has an upper hand just has no clue.

They can buy up all the bonds they want.

You're looking at it politically and culturally. What's actually more important is geography, demography, and economics....in which case China is fricked no matter how weak our Zoomers become as a whole.

China's path to economic failure was set before Trump was elected.

Yeah, China would have failed anyway, but the race was between when they would fail and when they would be strong enough to take us. Trump hastened the failure of China. He wisely saw clearly the main issue of our time and he acted on it in the face of almost universal criticism. Within four years there was no more dissent from Trump’s position. THAT is winning an argument.

I dislike Trump as a human being, and I would have loved for someone like DeSantis to be charismatic enough to defeat him, because Trump is an unstable demagogue. But he was a necessary evil in that we desperately needed someone to pull the plug on China, STAT! Trump did that, and as a bonus he allowed the Federalist Society free rein on judges and eased the Federal regulatory burden. He also cut taxes, making me a good deal of money.

In short, I was pleasantly surprised by how good Trump was in his first three years. Unfortunately, they figured him out and began manipulating him like a puppet, culminating in his embarrassing January 6th loss to Pelosi. I’m afraid if he wins a second term they will have his number from jump, and four years later the entire government will be in Democrat hands. Maybe he’ll surprise me again, though.

They control our President currently.

We don’t seem to be doing anything about it.

You don’t see the potential, massive economic problem that comes from a population that cares more about pronouns than they do about math and science? My girlfriend’s kid passed the 5th and 6th grade not knowing her multiplication tables or long division. But, she’s very aware that she can change her gender at any point. She watches dance videos on TikTok and plays with character AI on her phone.

Which generation do you think will contribute to the world and their country’s economy more? The ones who watch patriotism and math/science videos, or the ones who hate their country and spend hours watching dance videos and how to build a cruise ship in Minecraft? Something like half of millennials are dependent on their parents… you think Gen Z is gonna be better? This is why China is kicking our asses.

While I don't disagree with the things that you said before, China is in no way kicking our arse. There is a strong possibility that China won't even exist as a unified country in 20 years. Fragmentation is very likely given their geographic, cultural, political, and economic issues. Despite what they like to project to the world, they're not a particularly unified country.
