LINK

The Link is an interview by the Soft White Underbelly guy Mike Latitia with a Marriage Counselor. It's cutting edge and explosive in ways that will affect the overall cultural ethos re relationships, IMO. As I mostly frequent the Politics Forum, and knowing how 'sex=minded' the OT is, I was wondering if yall had dealt with this.

Note: Watch the entire Video, if you can, as the Counselor's first and inflammatory premise seems not to affect good, stable and rational people who are NOT (edit for not) impaired with sex-based 'psychoses'. It will affect the very idea of long-term relationship for a lot of people. It's gas on the male-female relationship fire.

My apologies up front for posting this mind 'virus', or if it has already been discussed.

A lot of words that tell me nothing. Not clicking without better summary.

Nobody’s clicking that without knowing what you’re talking about man.

After you've smushed that thing every way you can think of and watched a baby come out of it.

A day fishing or hunting sounds a lot better than a day laying in bed with the Ole Lady.

I would indeed offer my own cliffs if I were able. Yall can catch the first minute and the guy's premise that it is 'slutty sex' that even the most 'virtuous' of women employ to successfully "hunt" the man whose power they intend to exploit, via marriage or a long term relationship.

Watch it, and/or stay ignorant, but know that "ignorance is bliss". There are some things that some people are better off not knowing. This may be one of those things.

The first minute in, he is describing "limerence." While his comments are directed towards men, it happens to women as well.

It has more to do with testosterone, dopamine, and adrenaline chemicals.

They can't stop thinking about their crush. It's a very strong infatuation that is mind and body consuming. It's a very intense sort of love.

It's essentially a feeling of ectasy.

Limerence always ends. It has to, because if it didn't, it will destroy productivity.

Holy shite! Are you suggesting that women use sex to attract men? If so, that's one of the most groundbreaking revelations of the 21st century. We need to get the word out ASAP.

That is just the opening volley of fire, WC, it gets a lot deeper and becomes virtually irrefutable as his assessments proceed. Fascinating.

The Link is to the Soft White Underbelly 'artistic' efforts of said Artist. His interview cover the gamut of current cultural victims, many who have suffered grave hurt, but tell their story as a healing act. There are tons of very personal tragic scenarios. It is sobering as it presents the consequences of our current cultural ethos.

I only pass this on for those who may be interested in understanding the psychological dynamics and power struggles between men and women. While it is true that initial and seemingly simplistic attractions may be based in either physical or spiritual feelings, it is further true that SUCCESSFUL long term relations will ultimately have to be spiritual based, as the power/control aspect of relationships is there for the duration. And the "life of quiet desperation" scenario threatens the stability of such.

Watch it or not, but I won't be attempting rebuttals on ideas or arguments that are outside of the Counselor's well-argued theories. Such would be a waste of time for us all.

Because my post is an idea/argument presented by a professional counselor, who has handled thousands of situations. He speaks off the cuff in the interview, and handles complex, abstract ideas and feelings of the which I am utterly incompetent at arguing. It is new for me, though I do recognize particular behaviors and feelings in my own life's journey.

The SWU enterprise is the cutting edge of presenting much of the highly personal and openly argued content that is offered on this Forum, in a video eye to eye and unrehearsed art form. I may subscribe and pay to support some of the charitable efforts that the Artist offers to some of the honest but pitiful people in his interviews. "But by the grace of God, there go I".

Appreciate the straightforwardness here.

I’m not interested in watching an hour long video of a random dude with a psych doctorate talk about how he believes marriages are predominantly a power struggle. Have a good one

I stopped watching swu when all the interviews were of insane drug addicts spewing their life story. How about interviewing some people who aren't losers?
