People seem to forget that New Orleans once had a strong Italian community. Did you know that, at one time, New Orleans had more Italians living there than did New York City?

Looking at the map, and the fact that illegals count in the census; you can see why the Democrats opened the border

The county by county tells the true story. Red areas of blue states are bleeding population

Which in a way is good news. Red areas leaving blue states for red states is preferred over blue people leaving blue states for red to ruin them.

You guys have spent a beautiful weekend discussing what a shite hole LA is because a map shows we’ve lost 0.01 - 0.5% of the population.

Get outside and live a little bit and maybe enjoy some of the good stuff this state has and improve your mental health.

This place is toxic.

The Louisiana perspective embodies a unique mindset. Geographically, there's nothing inherently wrong with it; in fact, the state should be a powerhouse given its geographical advantages. The presence of the river, flat fertile land with a warm climate, robust energy production, free college education through TOPS, and the tourism potential of New Orleans all highlight the state's immense potential for growth. However, addressing the following issues is crucial:

1. Remove criminals from the population by instituting long-term incarceration.
2. Reform the State constitution to rectify issues in the tax code, infrastructure, and the lawsuit industry.
3. Lastly, the responsibility lies with the people to improve public schools by actively participating in and investing in them. If citizens continue to opt for private or charter schools, draining public schools of good students from stable families and consistently underfunding them, the education system will never improve on its own.

Yeah no. You obviously don’t have kids in college. You literally discounted everything else you said when you throw that crock of sh!t statement in there.

This is more advantageous to an economy in the early 20th century than the 21st century.

Clearly, this is not a serious post

Other than some fees, the education part is free. Plenty of kids here go to McNeese and only pay the fees. TOPS handles the rest.

You say, “other than some fees” like it’s some small add ons that don’t amount to much. Those “some fees” are literally MORE than the tuition. I have a kid at la tech right now. Tuition is $1800/qtr. fees are $2k/qtr plus books.

You can make points about why someone would want to stay in LA, but saying “free education” simply isn’t one of them, and as I said before, it brings into question everything else you say when you throw that obvious falsehood in the mix.

Fees were about 10% of tuition 20 years ago. Now they are as much as the tuition. TOPS is just a shell game.

“From 2010 to 2020, the population dropped 3.2%, or about 59,000 people. Because of that, West Virginia was one of only seven states to lose a congressional seat following the 2020 census.

Reasons for leaving vary, but common themes emerge: a lack of opportunity or low pay, not enough to do, and poor cellphone and internet service. According to the Census Bureau, only 79% of West Virginian households have a broadband internet subscription, the fifth-smallest rate in the country.

The population has suffered from changing demographics, with deaths outpacing births for the past two decades, according to the National Center for Health Statistics.”

Not having enough children is one reason too.

Last time I visited rural WV I have never seen so many able bodied males standing around loitering during the day and not working. Oh and the people there are like Arkansas people, they think the world revolves around their small shite hole towns

A lot of us shouldn’t throw stones at West Virginia

About 16% of West Virginia’s residents live in poverty, surpassed only by Arkansas, Kentucky, New Mexico, Louisiana and Mississippi.
