I think there are more appealing choices for your demographic.
Why those

Just did a guys' night out upstairs at Clancy's 3 weeks ago. We had 17 guys in their late 30s. They had us at 2 big round tables in the first room to the left upstairs. Service was great for that size party, and food was excellent. The whole restaurant was popping that night.
Brigtsen's is great, but Frank turned me off with his political theater during covid. Food is top notch, though. Not as lively as Clancy's, but not quiet either. I agree with everyone else's comments about the 3. I would choose either Clancy's or Brigtsen's.

Totally agree earlie. Love those places but for 20 somethings?
Those are old geezer places

Just to clarify…Brigtsen’s would be my choice by a mile

I’m a Brigsten’s guy too, but to me that’s a date place or somewhere to show out of town guests authentic cuisine
I’ve never really enjoyed Clancy’s, I feel like you have to be in the Clancy’s club to understand the appeal, with the way people talk about it. Their menu is so boring to me, too.
For a dude dinner uptown, I’m going to one of these spots:
Costera (or sister restaurant Osteria Lupo)
Mr John’s Steakhouse (or Charlie’s )
Coquette

Clancy’s is my favorite restaurant
You don’t want to dine anywhere near mid city? The places will probably be packed

Because we have similar restaurants in Atlanta. I wanted more of an old school uptown Nola restaurant.
But I appreciate everyone’s advice! Got a reservation at Clancy’s that Friday night after Jazz Fest

Great! Be sure and report back on the meal!

Meal was outstanding. Our reservation was late so we stopped by the Columns beforehand to grab a few drinks which was a good move. The vibe was immaculate.
Got to Clancy’s where they seated us upstairs which was pretty lively. We ordered our cocktails but I ended up switching over to a few glasses of red wine. We didn’t get a bottle but they had a very impressive wine list.
I didn't take any pictures but I started with the crawfish gumbo which I'd highly recommend. Then we shared the fried eggplant and veal & ricotta meatballs which included a parmesan broth + hint of pesto which was 10/10.
I ordered the grilled wagyu which was great but nothing memorable, imo. I blame it on the frites because both the meat and demi-glace tasted excellent. But the others ordered the smoked duck, the seafood special (i.e. black drum), and the gulf fish almondine. We shared bites of each dish and they were all phenomenal, with the duck or fish almondine being my two favorites.
We followed up that meal w/ brunch at Brennan's which was also really good but they said they preferred the atmosphere at Clancy's. They thought Brennan's felt too much of a production which I totally get.
Jazz Fest menu:

That’s too bad. Downstairs is the best experience at Clancy’s. Glad you guys enjoyed it. It’s been our regular Wednesday night spot for years now.

I love Clancy's. It is a great meal and experience.
But please make the menu more readable! ;)

That’s what it looks like when they give it to you at the restaurant.

I know! And the lights are dim. We had to use our phones to try to read
It!
