Kentucky fans were begging the officials to throw Shaq out for fighting so he’d be suspended for the next game. They got their wish and barely beat a Shaqless LSU the next day.

THANK YOU

We def would've beaten Kentucky with Shaq playing that game and maybe Alabama in the title game as well

Not really but he pulled him back out the air by the waist. That's a pretty sudden unexpected thing to happen. Also wonder how it would've played out if Dale didn't jump in? When it was just Shaq and that bitch Carlus Groves everybody else was just standing around watching.

Although I was not there I remember watching it live on television when it happened.... I surely didn't think it was 32 years ago, wow!

I was there too. Thought I was going to have to fight my way out of the arena.

Was reminded of this one watching the Women’s game Sunday.

My wife and I were at that game and at that tournament. (WE lived in GA at the time.) We were given tickets midcourt, pretty high up but there were zero LSU fans around us. It was as much the Arkansas fans (their first SEC Ty I believe) as the UK fans that were yelling throw Dale out. We were acosted between that Tenn game and the next game and actually went to the LSU section and sat in the aisle near old friends. Only time in my long life as an LSU fan that I felt a bit scared of being attacked by a mob at a game. IT was a pretty poison atmosphere that day and the next.

I turned on Dale. He was the classless one. Pathetic display and an embarrassment that day from him. …… beginning of the end, or the end that already started….

One of the few times in his career Shaq did something about getting hacked. He tolerated a crazy amount of that crap especially his junior year. He would literally have guys hanging on him and no foul called.

Perhaps, but I've never seen a foul like that in any other game. Other than this time, I've never seen any player grab another from behind on both hips to stop him from going up for a layup/dunk.
