Does anyone here do the HOF/Rogan cold plunge ?

Just started a few days ago it’s pretty miserable the few mins but gets comfortable after a while .
Does anyone else do this and do you find positive results?

It gets "comfortable"? How cold are you dealing with here? I don't do this, but I find it interesting, so I apologize for not being able to provide any anecdotes about my usage of cold plunges. I have a few friends who have gotten into it though. What kind of equipment are you using?
I just know I'm too big of a baby to do this, I hate hate hate cold water, ironically that probably means I'm the kind of person who would benefit the most from cold plunges. Cold plunges sound like a good method to train mental toughness and confronting fears/challenges/discomfort, etc. I'm also scared away by the physical effects that harm athletic performance, but mostly I'm scared of the ice and freezing my arse off.

I've read what I would call a 'moderate' amount of information relating to cold plunges and heat therapy, so it goes without saying I haven't read 'everything' or probably even most of the information available, but 2 dozen or so abstracts seemed like enough to me. I can only read so many abstracts or papers that all seem to say the same thing before I start to tune out and say, "Well, that's that, I'm done here."
What I read passed my smell test for reliability and nothing I reviewed said there is any hard science behind any claimed health benefits of cold plunges. But people who like doing it, seem to really like doing it, and they "report" that it's beneficial. Which isn't proof, but that's what I read, like I said.....over. and. over. and. over. I came away feeling as if the cold plungers have become somewhat cultish in their thinking and behavior.
However, I do see a potential in cold plunges as a way to train yourself to overcome fears and charge head long into adversity, and that can be useful in many areas of life. As long as a person knows the basics of how to prevent suffering a cold injury or otherwise hurting themselves while doing this, it could be beneficial, but it's hard to read about because there's so many people who aren't objective at all. They can barely conceal their excitement in trying to indoctrinate you into the cold plunge crew, and that repels me because I know I'm gonna be fed a line of BS.

To anyone who cold plunges or takes ice baths, whatever you want to call it, if you like it and feel it helps you, do it. Just don't be bothered by people like me not wanting to join you because I need evidence it does good before I'm jumping in an ice cold tub. I don't care if it's only 2 minutes.
I'll be in my hot bath with some incense, some Creedence playing, and the ice will be in my root beer.

There’s an 80-year old baw I go to church with that still wields a chainsaw, hunts turkeys, smokes his own sausage, and likes to have a couple beers a day . I always think of stuff like this and want to tell him, “ you know Mr Jerry, what would really help you be healthier is if youd sit in a tub of ice water everyday. You should probably work on getting your macros right too”.

I've not done them but I would like to try. Most I do is take showers with the tap on cold, which in Louisiana summer that water is likely 70F+ so not very cold at all.
The times I've done it when we've had a longer "cold snap" though, that was interesting - felt like I was getting brain freeze one time in particular when we had that extended near or below freezing weather for like a week or so.

Idk about the "new wave" of cold plunges but we used to take a 10 minute ice bath after hard track workouts. I can't tell you if it made us any better and from the papers I've read, I don't think there's a lot of scientific data to back up any performance increase. I don't think there's any negative to doing them either, though. If anything you can benefit from the mental toughness from throwing yourself in freezing water for a little while.
Like Denim said, I'm kind of turned away by the cultish attitude of the people that do them. It feels like the same crowd that wore those copper bracelets, then put "brain oil" in their coffee, and now they're obsessed with the carnivore diet and Goggins. It's always chasing the next SECRET THAT SCIENTISTS DONT WANT YOU TO KNOW. My brother in Christ, it's a bucket of cold water

I’ve done Red’s a few times when visiting family.
Started doing them more regularly since December. Most of the time after a workout and sauna/hot tub. Only about 4 minutes up to neck.
Some have claimed it’s also good as a Preworkout. I’ve tried this 3 times. 5-10 minutes hot tub followed by 2 minutes cold plunge. I haven’t lifted any heavier but definitely wakes me up and gives a mini adrenaline rush to start the workout.

why? it slows/stops hypertrophy and shows no real benefits
i try to cut useless stuff out, especially things that are miserable to do in the first place

Screw that. I don’t even like a cold shower.
I work hard and secure an income for a few core reasons…two of which are to afford cold AC and hot water.
I’d fight somebody that tried to throw me in an ice bath.

Same here in regards to running related recovery. In college I would follow up any track workout/long run with rolling out and stretching, then 8-10 min cold plunge that got below 40 degrees. I saw performance benefits and it was the only way I was able to get through two a day workouts/80+ mile weeks.
It worked for me. I know it's not beneficial for gaining muscle mass but I'm not focused on that.

Some studies indicate it may retard hypertrophy. I don't have a link but it's out there if you google it.
